"One of my associates tells me that you encountered a powerful wraith during the battle. That he saw you pick something up that the wraith dropped. May I see it, please?"
"Oh yeah, sure." She shuffled around in the underarmor she was still wearing and pulled out the locket she'd recovered.
Blackheart's eyes widened, and he produced an amulet from beneath his armor. The symbol was slightly more stylized and modern, but it was undoubtedly the same. "You hold the personal sigil of Black Flag, the knight commander of Princess Platinum's royal guards. My ancestor, and one of the most powerful battlemages in history. Even in his mindless state, I am impressed you were able to defeat him." He put his amulet away, and pulled out his checkbook. "I am prepared to offer you one million bits for the locket."
"Here." Raven offered it up to him. "Don't want the money, hon, give it to cancer colts if it makes you feel better."
Blackheart raised an eyebrow. It baffled him slightly that she would simple give him something he'd offered her a substantial amount of money for. "I thank you, then. This means a great deal to me." Taking the locket, he teleported away. In the coming months, a charitable organization called Raven Rocks would gain a bit of attention. The group, initially financed by an anonymous founder, would pay to send terminally ill fillies and colts to various concerts and shows, and would sometimes arrange for performances at the hospitals themselves. *******************************************************************************************88888 "That was odd," Nightshade said. "I've never seen him act so... nice."
"He's prolly just glad to have that locket," Raven replied. "That, or nopony's ever not taken money from him." Maya got up from where she was lying and walked into the ruins of her bar. "Yikes, it's a real mess in here... Shady. Could you lend a hoof with something? Like... privately? I'll only need ya a couple minutes."
Nightshade shrugged and followed Maya, "What's up?" **************************************************************** Miles away, in a private hanger in Canterlot, Quick Fix flipped through a magazine. He wondered what was taking those kids so long. The botanical samples had been picked up and paid for, but there was still hold full of treasure to sell. Eh, whatever. They'd show up eventually.
"Have fun, ladies." Raven continued rummaging through the bar, looking for things that could be saved. ~~~~~~~~ Maya took Shady behind the building and pulled a metallic pipe from under her wing, packed with some flaky, rocky substance. Definitely not an amphetamine, or anything so stupid. It looked more like some psychedelic she made herself. "I need somepony to hold this so it doesn't drop."
"Thanks, dude." Maya held a nifty, hoof-held lighter up to the bowl, taking a deep drag, clearing it out frankly way too fast. She sat back on her flank, hooves going numb, dropping the lighter. She exhaled after about seven seconds, smoke smelling almost like dry moth balls. "Duuude..."
Nightshade shook her head. "I made a promise to Raven. No more killing. I can make the arrangements, but I can't do it myself."
"Fine, fine... but whoever you pick, I wanna send company. Az tags along for the first one. Asmo for the second."
