"Id love to, I really would, but I dont think she likes me very much, if at all." (well that was a wasted 3hrs. set my phone down, and Poof. gone.)
"Have fun, Saber." Raven finished that song. "Thank you! Now. Here's hoping you all don't mind if I go au naturel for this next one." Raven quickly turned off all the distortion herself and recommended the band take a quick break, as this song was all her. She returned to the mic and eyed Night for a moment. "It's an honor to rock with you tonight. But just for a sec, I'd like to slow it down."
Saber got to the bar and peaked inside. Nothin but Zeran at her table, and a few chatting at their own table. She went around to the back of the bar where she hid her car. Getting into it, she checked for missing stuff.
Nightshade arched an eyebrow, then gave Raven a quick smile. "I wonder what she's up to," she thought to herself.
Zeran hummed to herself, now incredibly drunk. "wonder when they're gonna get back in here...." she muttered
Nightshade wasn't much for emotional displays, but she found it hard not to think of Summer as she heard the song. She wondered what she would think of this new mare that had come into her life. Mostly, she wondered if Summer would forgive her when they met... if they met... in the next world. It was hard to say. It would be hard to ask for forgiveness when she couldn't even forgive herself. When the song was over, she joined the applause, still deep in thought. Summer was gone. As much as Nightshade still loved and missed her, she was gone. Raven, on the other hoof, was right there. She knew what Nightshade was, and she hadn't been scared off. "Screw it," Nightshade thought quietly, "let's just go for it and see what happens."
"I..." Maya frowned. "I think I kinda get what happened, Night. At least to some degree. I'm sorry." "Got one more for y'all tonight," Raven told the crowd before turning her distortion back on. "Got a little song I'm dedicating to that mare." Raven pointed up to Maya. "That one. Right there. The one that reeks of cannabis." "Uhh..." Maya raised an eyebrow and waved awkwardly. She'd never been openly singled out in a crowd before. This was new.
Maya shrugged. "Think they got it's me." Raven smiled as she ended on a rather happy song, most unusual for the genre. Spoiler Light shines bright beyond all the cities of gold On a road of birdsong and chocolate shops Of buskers, jugglers, innkeeper's welcoming call The sound of mist, smell of moss-grown woods Weaving my wings from many-colored yarns Flying higher, higher, higher Into the wild Weaving my world into tapestry of life Its fire golden In my Walden I will taste the manna in every tree Liquid honey and wine from the distant hills An early morning greenwood concerto Greets my Walden with its eternal voice Weaving my wings from many-colored yarns Flying higher, higher, higher Into the wild Weaving my world into tapestry of life Its fire golden In my Walden Weaving my wings from many-colored yarns Flying higher, higher, higher Into the wild Weaving my world into tapestry of life Its fire golden In my Walden Weaving my wings from many-colored yarns Flying higher, higher, higher... I do not wish to evade the world Yet I will forever build my own Forever build my own Forever my home
*"Maya, I'm bringing the cameras down for interviews, care to be interdimensionally and multiversially interviewed.?"*
Saber went back into the bar after the last song, and sat across from Zeran. She had obviously cried, and tried to hide it. "Hey."
The crowd roared, and the lights died down. A half hour later, once most of the crowd had headed home, Nightshade found Raven and the band. Marq was with Night, as were the two Unicorns that had been in the VIP section. "That was amazing! I knew you'd do well, but... wow! Everypony loved you!"
"Why not?" Maya replied to Arch. After the song, she joint the roaring crowd, cheering for Raven. "Hey. Without you, none of this would be possible, so... come here." Raven walked over and pulled Night into a hug.
Zeran blinked and shook her head, cursing the amount of alcohol she had drank. "what happened?" she said, swaying slightly
Nightshade returned the hug, then pulled away to introduce the new ponies. "Um... I'd like you to meet a couple of acquaintances of Marq's. This is Airplay, and this is Needle Drop." Airplay nodded. "We represent Sunrise Records, out of Canterlot. I'm sure you've heard of us. Miss Raven, we came here tonight because Marquee Lights wanted our label to be the first to hear an amazing new talent. We were not disappointed. In fact, we were so impressed by what we saw tonight that we are prepared to offer you an exclusive recording contract with Sunrise. What do you say? "
