Needle Drop chose that moment to enter. "Ah, good, you're here. Did you look over the contract? Is everything satisfactory?"
"Fantastic! Let's get this thing signed, and I'll be out of your mane. Shouldn't take more than a week to get you into the studio."
"Awesome. Will I be working with those ponies from before?" Raven grabbed a ballpoint pen from Maya's possessions, held it in her teeth, and signed the paperwork where requested.
*"Maya, remember Saber is going to be taking a vacation of sorts Tuesday night. Just a reminder. I'll try and get her back before morning, but with certain events, ahem a murder, the energy, around this world is fluxing, it'll be hard to really fine tune the traveling. Please excuse her if she doesn't come in Wednesday. "*
"She's not working Wednesday," said Maya. "I only hired her for weekends. Also, I don't know about any murders, and anypony who says I do is a damn liar. So maybe drop that."
"Your band? I believe they're private contractors with the Musician's Guild. If you want them, we'll try to make the arrangements."
"Yeah." Raven nodded. "Them. They're crazy good musicians." "Long as we're not making any more accusations against my customers and friends, I'm gone. Peace." Maya left the bar.
*"I also thought she said Stand Down, did she not? That would mean you disobeyed an order. Hmm, isn't that, oh I don't know, Insubordination, punishable by unemployment or whatever your laws for treason involve?"*
*" You better hope no one finds the evidence. That would really put the nail in the coffin. Considering I had the entire night broadcast across dimensions and Universes. Including a little part where Luna told a Guard to stand down, presumably after giving the initial order, meaning she did say Stand Down. Wouldn't it suck if it comes out to the press that a Night Guard murdered somepony THUS disobeying the Princess' direct order to stand down? That's the kind of scandal that can end a career and reputation of all on the Guilty side."*
"I have never and would never disobey an order from my princess," Silver said angrily. "I was ordered to stand down during the concert. I watched that disgusting degenerate groping her, and I did NOTHING, because her word is law!" He stood up, teeth bared. "But afterwards, when I was free to do what needed to be done, I did so. For the good of Equestria, I sought out the disease, and I cured it. Think, will you? If he was willing to do such things to the princess, how many times had he already done it to other mares? How long would it have been before it escalated; before some innocent mare ended up raped or murdered?"
Azrael growled. "*squee!*. Off. Architect. I refuse to believe you've never taken a life, powerful as you claim to be, and as often as I'm sure you piss ponies off. I'm willing to bet every being in this building has. It happens."
*" I have killed, and I regret it everyday. But the only reason I do, is because the killing is a last resort. If i can't lock them away, I will stop them. I'm surer than I have a Zeppelin that there are prisons for exactly the reason why you killed that pony. You obviously knew where he lived, and yet you can't arrest him? No you go to the extreme. Asrael, not once did I say you were in this before this note. I will kindly ask you to stay in your own conversation?"* OOC : Hating autocorrect, it changed Azzy to Asmo.
Silver sighed. "We do what we must for the greater good. Equestria is peaceful because threats to that peace are dealt with swiftly. Not every problem can be solved with love and friendship. Sometimes, we have to get our hooves dirty. To do things that would horrify normal ponies. So we do what needs to be done, and the normal ponies never realize what we do to keep them all safe."
"That was the kind of pony who would serve his term and get released, only to do it again. If he had done that in front of the owner, he would have had his ribcage crushed to dust on the spot. Then his soul would be fed directly to me, and his corpse fed to Asmodeus, leaving no trace of his existence. Trust and believe that last hour or so of life was a mercy, granted by the gods themselves."
*" I see this is that timeline, now. March, march, march on to war. I can see it all now. But enough about what couls or couldn't still happen. Not good to know too much, see. I've traveled through time, therefore it is my past, that is your possible future, got hit with something in the Timestreams so it may or may not happen. I hope you'll change something, that might happen, if it does, please tell me it will at least be attempted to be stopped. I like you all, I don't want to see you meet a bad Judgement when Judgement Day comes."*
Nightshade addressed the godling directly. "Alternate timelines of war and death? I've seen them. I've lived them. I... my original self... was created in one such timeline. A timeline where Celestia became corrupted and cruel, where Equestria was plunged into a bloody civil war that lasted for years and claimed millions of lives. The war eventually tore open the gates of Tartarus itself, releasing the horrors within. I watched as demons tore apart every city, killed everypony, until Equestria lay in ruins. I fought beside the survivors as we made our last stand at the gates of the Crystal Empire. I watched as we failed, and the last hope of ponykind was destroyed." She sighed. "That was not the me that I am now, but her existence is a part of me. Every version of me in existence, I am connected to. I've seen what they've seen, and do want to know something? This world is pretty great, compared to what it could be."
