Asmo rolled his eyes. "It was an agreed upon, no hard feelings, for fun, organized--And you leave before you can stop looking down on us savage Equestrians. Fights are more fun to watch when you're not on a high horse!"
"it would appear they did not go to the upper limits of their abilities. perhaps if the situation became...more intense.."
"If you want a 'true display of power', then you step up. Otherwise, I'm helping to make sure he gets to bed, and then reading a book."
There was a small rustling sound nearby, and a small metal orb coated with magically-enhanced adhesive shot towards Azrael.
"That's not for you," a voice said behind Etheran, "Meddling fool!" Throwing off her cloak, the mare flared her wings and created a powerful gust of wind to blow the orb the rest of the way to its target.
Etheran frowned and moved the orb slowly towards her. "I would prefer you not attack my friends, please. who are you, by the way? I haven't payed as much attention to this world as I should as of late"
Mat was drifting in and out of consciousness, having went silent. He did quietly mutter towards Az though, having a decent grip of the situation, "... Maybe... maybe it wasn't the best idea to ask for a fight with you. I... didn't think anypony else would come in and attempt to attack you after we were done."
The mare drew a dagger with shocking quickness and lunged at Etheran, simultaneously creating another gust of wind to put the orb back on track. "This doesn't concern you! Don't make me hurt you."
The mare sighed, turned, and tossed the dagger at Etheran's kneecap. She then took off, recovered the orb, and once again got it back on track towards Azrael. This should have been simple. Get in, stick the revenant, get out. This other pony was getting annoying.
Etheran scowled, shattering the blade with a small bolt of energy, then teleported between Azrael and the mare, putting up a forcefield
The mare sighed, picked up her cloak, and pulled out a small crystal wand. After tapping the device with the wand, she donned her cloak and shoved the orb back into her pocket. "Another time, dear. This isn't over." She tossed a smoke bomb and pulled her hood up. By the time the smoke cleared, she was long gone.
Her mistake had been to attack when he wasn't alone. She had hoped that the fight would have weakened him, but she hadn't counted on the others interfering. No matter. They couldn't keep that... thing... safe forever.
*"Maya, I saw the whole thing. Do you want me to assign a warrior to watch Azrael? At no point will Azrael be alone. These warriors are well versed in magic arts of every kind, weaponry, stealth, and martial arts of various types. You'll never know if they're nearby unless you or Azrael are attacked. I'll only have them do this if you agree."*
