Just outside of Ponyville, and a few miles into the Everfree, an old mansion lay in a state of disrepair. Though it was, at first glance, long abandoned, the few ponies that ventured in over the years were surprised to find that it was home to one of the best-stocked alchemy labs in Equestria. Very few, however, made it out to tell the tale. The owner like her privacy, after all. It was this owner, a very old and devious vampire, that greeted the mare as she entered. "You're back. Did it work?" The mare sighed. "Yes and no. The de-bonding agent is effective, but I wasn't able to stick the adhesive. There was unexpected interference." The old alchemist shrugged. "Interference is one of the many perils that an assassin must face." "I'm not an assassin. I don't kill unless I have to. You know that." "Oh really? Then perhaps you'd like to bring the Sisterhood in, after all." "No! No. This is personal. I can't allow collateral damage." "Why are you so stubborn? Fine. Give me the device, I'll see about making some changes. Next time, nopony will be able to interfere."
Mat flipped himself over, back first, just staring at the ceiling, silent. His hooves were just draped at his sides. [Satisfied, aren't you? I have to admit... I am also.] He gave a weak chuckle, "... Eventually... I'll... beat him... straight up... It'll take.... time... Best things.... usually do...."
Edmond: sensei is defined as one who teaches, you may not be my teacher, but to be respectful you would still be called sensei.
(Turning back to Azrael) (Shakes his hoof) You must be Azrael-kun. *a note* *"Edmond, I said enough with the honorifics. "* (Grabs the note and scrawls a short message on the back.)
Would you rather I call you kōhai? Plus Kōhai is a junior, the reverse of senpai but it is not normally used as an honorific thus kun would be used for this function instead.
"Watashi wa azuraeru to yoba reru koto o konomudarou." (Attempted: "I would prefer to just be called Azrael.")
Ooc: When I read that. I thought of a song by mothy. (Chuckles) alright, alright Azrael. I get it. (Sheaths his katana)
A tall bald man wearing loose green pants and black boots appeared suddenly. On his wrists were simple green cloth bracers. He was shirtless, heavily muscled with inhumanly broad shoulders. His most striking feature, however, was the third eye in the middle of his forehead. The man, whom some would recognize as Tien Shinhan, shook his head in disgust. "Freaking weeaboos..." A moment later, he was gone.
A bright flash suddenly encompassed Mat's room, revealing a green unicorn with curly dirty brown hair, he slowly walked up to Mat, poking him in the side with a hoof, "... Did you get your flank kicked?" Mat rolls his eyes, turning over, his back towards the Green Unicorn, "Yes. Shut up Rush. I'm resting."
"If you don't mind, I would like to visit a new nighttime library in Manehattan. By myself." Azrael turned to leave.
Good night. Be careful. (Unsheathes his katana and swings it in an arc from the ground on his left to the ground on his right, over his head. The glowing light left over, falls like rain washing his image away, and he is gone when it fades)
Rush smirked, making a fork with his magic, taking the fork in his hoof, poking at Mat's back. Mat's eyes narrowed, "... Rush... can you stop?" Rush chuckled, putting down the fork, "Was it everything you wanted it to be?" Mat sat up, "Yeah... I learned a lot... and I know there's still more... Point is, I think I surprised a lot of friends out there, and maybe they all won't think I'm so weak anymore, you know? Though... I'm worried about how far this thing is going to have to go. I mean, there might be a time where I'm looked at as the monster, instead of the hero." Rush laughed, "... Yeah, sure, like that'll happen." He rolled his eyes, "You're too goody to be the villain, Mat. I mean, you just want to protect everypony. Pretty sure these other friends of yours won't stop being friends just cause of your strength." Rush smirked, "... Come on now, Mat. You're a face, you'll always be a face."
It was soon time for the bar to reopen. Maya and Dusty went through the morning rituals of opening, and took their places in the bar. They decided to keep the paintings in place as permanent decoration. Raven was still at Maya and Dusty's home, having wanted to go on a lyrics binge. She would turn up later. Azrael took the morning off to prowl through the Everfree for strong animals. He needed to stock up on power, so he needed to slaughter some furry creatures for petty souls.
A short time later, the mare left the old mansion with the newly-upgraded device in her cloak pocket. In addition to the enhanced adhesive, it now had a special anti-magic coating that would prevent it from being grabbed by telekinesis. A few minutes of flying later, she heard the unmistakable sound of a small animal being killed. She pulled up her hood, rendering herself invisible, and went to investigate.
The mare may have misheard. Azrael had killed a cougar, quick and painless. By the time she reached him, his eyes were closed as he filtered the creature's soul through a special burial urn and into his body.
