"Nopony sneaks around me. I was raised among bats. I hear before I see. Every hoofstep. Nopony is naturally that stealthy."
Van responds again, "I walked." Mat stares at Az, "... He got past you? Really? That's... weird." He looks at Van, "He certainly doesn't look strong or anything like that."
Mat shrugged, "The two sometimes go hoof in hoof, don't they?" He looks at the younger stallion, "How'd you do that?" Van stared at the two, "I said it. I simply walked past the big undead pony. He didn't really notice me... no one downstairs did until I broke a glass."
Van takes a look at Az, before exiting the room, speaking quietly, "Fine. Keep your eyes on me. The entire way down." He then heads down the stairs, slowly, almost tripping on the first step, but keeps his body straight. Mat and Rush shake their heads as they watch Van leave.
"Nevermind." Azrael stood behind him. "Dreaded One. Smart pony things. Do them." Maya rolled her eyes and turned to Van. "Okay, fine. What's up?"
"I want to know why we never notice him," said Azrael. "Hmm..." Maya reached out and poked him. "Good question. Bet I can figure that out."
He falls off the stool at the poke, landing on his back. "Ow." He climbs back on the stool, "It just happens."
Van just stares forward, blankly replying, not even seeming the least bit upset at being called weak, "Not a problem."
