"He's half-Dragon. Not even technically a real Bat Pony... though I have heard stories that's how Bats came to be." He's also been exposed to more weird magic than just about any pony alive. I wouldn't be surprised if that's affected his aging, too." She laughed. "Of course, the way he tells it, he doesn't age because the princess ordered him to stop getting old."
Raven sniffed the air and went pale for a moment. "Uhh. Hey, Mom, think you can make me some of your sweet rolls? And eh, let me and Nighty talk in private about our love life?' "Uhh... something wrong?" Maya asked. "Nope. Not a thing. Just wanna talk about bedroom safety." Maya raised an eyebrow. "If you say so. I'll be out in ten." She forced herself to stand and walked back into the kitchen. Raven waited for Maya to be gone before hissing, "That kid's gonna bucking kill her!"
"It might," said Nightshade calmly. "But what can we do about it? We have to hope for the best and trust that she knows what she's doing."
"Nighty. I smelled an alicorn. She's not an alicorn. That's not a good combo. You know how hectic those fetuses are?"
"You can...? Right, Bat Pony... well buck." She put a hoof to her forehead, thinking. "I only know of one born Alicorn whose mother is still alive today. Princess Flurry Heart. We... we might need to talk to Princess Cadance. In the meantime, let Dusty know. Maybe he knows a way to keep her safe for the time being."
"Uh... yeah, actually. Security at the Crystal Palace is terrible." She paused. "But maybe we should make an appointment. My dad knows Prince Shining armor from back when he led the Royal Guard. I've met him a few times, too. Let's write to him, see if we can't get a few minutes with the Crystal Princess."
*Far away, in the Equestrian desert, in a spot corresponding to a Hydroelectric Dam output valve in another world, a twist in the air was forming, with a bit of heat lightning flashing around it.*
"I wonder if that's who I think it is," Nightshade thought. Out loud, she said, "No, but I saw some writing paper and quills behind the counter."
"Oh, yeah." She turned to the counter. "Hey, Dustbutt! We need to write an angry letter!" "...Fair enough." Dusty levitated paper, a quill, and an ink well over to their table.
*In the desert a small metal box and a disgruntled man tumbles out of the twist and gets shocked by the lightning as it jumps to him and the box. The twist vanishes leaving this man stranded in the desert with nothing but a superheated pocketknife, a battery for said knife, his clothes, a pen, and basically high tech Band-Aids.*
"Another human in Equestria. Ugh." Nightshade shifted her focus back to the matter at hoof. "Okay, do you want to write the letter, or should I? He probably remembers me, but he definitely knows who you are."
She shrugged. "I mean, my letter would probably be straight to the point. Need to talk to your wife about Maya Heartstrings' alicorn baby and find out how to make it not kill her. Love, Raven. Heart."
"Got it." Nightshade finished writing down what Raven had just said. "Uh... you can sign it. I can't forge your signature very well yet."
Xion: (standing up and dusting himself off. Picks up the box and looks through it. He soon closes it and starts walking, hoping to find some wood, or brush in the desert)
