"Nano... small... bots... robots?" Blackheart was truly impressed. "Tiny machines... so many possibilities." "Fascinating. This is years beyond what our technology can do. Now, I believe you mentioned something about a portal home?"
Yes. I was drawn here when an experiment went wrong. I'd need to rebuild the exact machine we were testing to get home. (Puts the nanobots back and pulls out the plasma cutter.) This is a plasma cutter, it heats up the gas in the air around the blade, forcing it into a fourth state of matter hot enough to cut most materials.
"Oh, nothing much," he responded, "Just been helping Dusty with some song material for Raven. It's coming along pretty well."
Blackheart examined the tool with great interest. There were spells and enchantments that could do the same, but they were extremely difficult and tiring, and the materials required for the enchantment were rare and expensive. "Your technology interests me, so let's get down to business. We can provide the tools, materials and any labor you might need to get yourself home. In exchange, you'll provide us with the schematics for your nanobots and plasma cutter." He extended his hoof. "Do we have a deal?"
That's just it, I can't give you the schematics. All of them are stored in the vaults back home and anyway I would need the other board members to unlock said vaults, but I can help reverse engineer the cutter that I have with me. Although it isn't impervious, each blow to it, or the longer something is in contact with the field the more energy is drained, eventually it'll break but you can recharge them. Oh and the cutter, it runs on energy cells. (pulling out the energy cell for the plasma cutter) But after the shield, I haven't anymore equipment to show off.
