"Baltimare." She tossed the letter on the bar. The page was little more than a long series of random letters and numbers, an old Night Guard code.
"Witness intervention. Somepony saw something she shouldn't have, and whoever wrote this letter doesn't want her talking." She sighed. "Basically, I'm about to go kidnap some poor scared mare from a highly secure building full of armed police officers."
I had asked to borrow a lamp, some paper, a marker, and a screen. And Nightshade, here (tosses a crystal clear orb to her, that had some sort of sand inside) Warp Sand. Speak a destination into it, and break the orb. The sand will bring you to the destination. Works on a very high dimensional plane so, most defenses and barricades can be bypassed with it. I have a bunch of this stuff locked up at home, so why not give some out once in a while?
"Oh!" Azrael nodded. "I did grab that earlier today, yes. Check the basement." Raven blinked. "You're *squee!*ting me."
(Pulls another orb out and mutters " basement" into it before shattering it in his hand. With a ripple of sand Edmond vanished into the basement, a few moments later and he was back in another ripple of sand with the supplies he asked for. He started setting them up as a projector and starting drawing out the calculations and a slide show of how the transfer worked.)
Nightshade thanked Edmond and put the orb into her bag. "I think I'll save this for a rainy day. To be perfectly honest, I'm kind of looking forward to pulling off a real mission. No powers, just skill and cunning. It'll be like being in the Guard again."
Dusty looked sternly at the assassin. "I do not necessarily trust your kind. Know this: Si alguien se atreve a ver uno de mis amigos por el camino equivocado... I will rape your mind in ways that would make Discord wince. Keep your blades sheathed." Navaja gave a light chuckle. "You know my tongue? How flattering." (Roughly, "If you so much as look at my friends the wrong way...")
You're welcome. Just know there are a few rules, One, you can't use it to escape your final death, Two, you can't use it for lawbreaking, so like, no breaking into banks and stuff K?, Three, have fun.
Navaja began to tease, "Though I do have a watch and report contract on a... Maya Hear-" He suddenly grimaced, nearly falling as Dusty's horn lit up. Azrael sighed. "Just what we need. Another wise-cracking prick. Nightshade, if I kill him, please help me destroy the body."
Navaja grunted. "How the..?" "A pegasus," Dusty observed, poking around his mind. "But you lost your right wing in a crash six years ago. Interesting. Sixty-three completed contracts, two of them being Celestial Guards, and one Night Guard, mostly taken down with sneak attacks. Strange dislike for bipeds. A criminal record; one case of battery, and... indecent exposure? Heh. Been there." He was taking his time, forcibly learning everything about this pony.
Dusty, please find out the validity of his most recent statement, and who ordered that contract, if you wouldn't mind.
"Oh, he was only joking," Dusty said. "I just didn't find a joke about a contract on my wife coming from a pony who kills for a living that funny. So I'm copying his entire mind, painless methods be damned."
Alright, though do let me know, if you find any contracts about anypony I would know. (Seems to find what he was looking for, but keeps it out of sight)
"Well... there was one on Architect that was approved immediately after his army moved on Canterlot."
Had Nightshade heard Dusty say that Navaja had been responsible for the death of a Night Guard, the scene would have gotten very ugly, very fast. The Guard was a family, and even though she no longer wore the armor, she still considered them her brothers and sisters. Had she heard what Dusty said, the assassin wouldn't have left the bar in one piece. But, as she was currently winging her way towards Baltimare, she had not, in fact, heard what Dusty said. *************************************************************************************** "Who would put a contract on a Guard?" Cricket asked.
Navaja trembled from the pain. "P... Princess... Luna... He was an ex guard, Skydust!" Dusty nodded. "Yes, accused of foal abuse, but allowed to walk thanks to a crooked lawyer. One who became your next target, though with no contract this time. You're an impulsive one." Raven raised an eyebrow. "Really? Luna?"
