Maya broke the kiss and stroked her mane. "There's more where that came from. After closing, that is."
(If I may exercise my God setting powers one more time to kick off the weekend just to move this along...) Saturday morning came with a light rain. The sun shone through a gap in the clouds, creating a rainbow behind the bar. It was opening time, and strangely, Saber was nowhere to be found. Maya, however, was sprinting to the bar from the distance, coat, dreads and tail drenched.
A small hole appeared in the clouds directly above the front door, and Nightshade dropped through, still perfectly dry. Avoiding rainy days was one of the many perks of being a Pegasus. "Woohoo! Alright, time to kick ass and take names! Or, like, take names and then maybe kick ass. Something like that."
Maya skidded to a halt in front of Nightshade. "Oh, hey. Least you showed up." She shook her head, flinging water from her dreads.
"Well... we can't exactly find anypony else in the next ten seconds. I can give up my day off, or you can handle both jobs. Your call."
Nightshade hesitated. "I'm not much of a bartender, but I do know somepony who is. I can call him, if you want."
Nightshade pressed her hoof to the gem on her necklace and closed her eyes. A minute and a half later, she reopened them. "Okay, he should be here any..." A swirling cloud of dark magic appeared in front of her, and a grey Unicorn with a brown mane stepped out. "Woo, that was a doozy. Precision jumps at that range take a lot out of you. So, where's the bar?" Nightshade grinned. "Maya, meet Blackout. In addition to being a Night Guard, he's the best damn amateur bartender you've ever seen."
