"Anyway... what time is it?" Nightshade looked up at the clock. "Almost noon. Hey, Black, I'm gonna head out a little early for lunch and get some flyers made for the show tonight. You okay on your own?" "Of course. Pick up a bag of limes on your way back?"
"Nah, you never once said... nevermind. Maybe stop having fun became code for I'll ignore you recently."
"Sir, I believe they were relaxing," Blackout said. "Nightshade jokes like that all the time. There was never any danger of a fight."
"Eugh." Asmo rested his head on the bar. "One of these days. All the rum. I'll need all the rum. Put it on Stuffy's tab."
"I'm afraid I can't do that," Blackout said as he set a bottle of rum in front of Asmo. "Did you want a glass, or will you be drinking it out of the bottle?"
"Bottle." He grabbed the bottle and started downing it. He took a break and stared at the old pony. "Oh, my. You've driven me to this."
Nightshade returned half an hour later and plopped a bag of limes on the bar. "Alright. I've got flyers up around town, and I talked the Radio Canterlot DJ into mentioning the show on-air. We should be set for tonight." She turned to Raven. "You need anything? Amps, speakers, whatever?"
"Might need to go fish out my electric," she replied. "Then I might need an amp or two. I'd sound a lot better if I still had a band, but eh, beggars can't be choosers."
"You're not a begger, dear. If you need something, you'll get it." Nightshade was determined to make the show successful. She had invited an old friend to the bar tonight. An old friend who happened to have contacts at Equestria's largest record label.
"You got it." Nightshade mentally ran through her list of business contacts. "I've got an acquaintance at the Musicians Guild who owes me a favor. I'll contact her, you just make me a list of what you need."
"Got it." Nightshade used the communication enchantment on her necklace to contact the necessary ponies. Fifteen minutes later, she glanced over at Raven. "They'll be here in an hour."
