"Need an-" Crimson said before he was cut off when a news report came onto TV, showing a gigantic island the size of Western Europe appearing in the Middle of the Atlantic rising out of the waves. All ships passing across the Atlantic at the point were marooned or destroyed... "That's impossible..." Crimson said.
Circuit turned to the TV. "Whut," was all he could say. The girls came running. "What's going on?" asked Rainbow Dash.
Crimson just stood up from the table and began to walk quickly out of the cafeteria. "We need to leave, now. I know what's about to happen. Billions are about to die..."
"Oh dear," said Circuit as he and the girls followed Crim outside. "This is just like that Superman movie where Lex Luthor made a continent out of Kryptonite," said Pinkie Pie rapidly, "except it's doing it on its own and there's no Kryptonite or evil genuises invovled!"
Crimson rushed outside as his right hand glowed pink, running halfway between the statue and the front of the school. He looked about as the ground began to shake violently. "Seismic activity is off the charts due to the island appearing. As in, apocalypse levels. World-wide tsunamis a mile high are already happening along with several volcanic eruptions. Yellowstone is going into meltdown any second now..." Crimson said before looking at his hand. He then punched the ground as hard as he could, creating an enormous shield spell which covered the entire school as an enormous tsunami began to see visible in the horizon, flattening anything in it's path.
Circuit and the girls looked on in horror as the city was drenched by the tsunami. "It's almost like Atlantis is sinking in reverse," Rainbow Dash said.
"Take cover!" Crimson cried out, using all of his strength to keep the shield together as the mile high wave crashed into the gigantic pink bubble. Crimson winced slightly as the wave soon overtook them. Pretty soon, the entire school watched in awe and horror at just how long Crimson was able to keep the bubble active for. By the time the tsunami began to fade back to the ocean, Canterlot looked like it had been hit by several nuclear bombs.
Circuit was unsure why this was happening. But he knew one thing. He didn't want to, but he had to go back to Detroit to find out the truth about himself. "Is Detroit still above sea level?" he asked.
"I have no idea..." Crimson told him blankly. "Although, it could be possible that the waves never made it that far inland. I doubt it though. Either way, Detroit is in bad shape..."
"In any case, we have to go there," said Circuit, determined. "But why, darling?" asked Rarity. "I may learn more about my powers there," he explained, "and finally find out who my parents are."
"I advise we leave right now, then." Applejack said aloud. "Crimson? Think it's time to take the shield down?" Crimson nodded as the shield slowly receded and vanished, turning Canterlot High into an oasis in the middle of a concrete wasteland.
----- Detroit, Michigan. A city home to the American automobile industry and a high crime rate. Much like Canterlot, Detroit was in ruins. Suddenly, Circuit and crew were accosted by some gang members. "Yo, Threepio," said one of them, pointing to Circuit, "Don'chu know you got a price on yo' head for flakin' on us?" "Yeah," said the shorter, burlier one, "Biggie G don't like nobody leave us hangin'." "Those days are over," said Circuit, "I had to do a lot of community service to get my criminal record cleared, and I could never go back to that life. Now are you gonna give me directions to the old orphanage, or do I have to, if I remember my street correctly, 'bust a cap in your ass?'" The two gang members backed off and gave them directions. They walked off in that direction. "That was close," Circuit said. "'Threepio?' Really?" Rainbow Dash asked testily, "THAT was your street name?" "I liked Star Wars a lot when I was young," he explained, "I snuck into the theater 17 times just to see Episode III."
Pinkie Pie couldn't hold her breath for much longer, and burst out laughing. Rarity raised an eyebrow at the pink haired woman. "I'm sorry Circuit....It's just...I was expecting something intimidating" Pinkie said laughing. "Like some super tough bad-guy name like, I dunno? Venom? Crusher? But...Threepio?" Fluttershy looked over at Circuit, ignoring Pinkie's laughter. "Is the Orphanage still open? Or was it shut-down?"
"The orphanage was shut down when I was five," Circuit said, "but it doesn't matter, it's probably destroyed." And Circuit was right. The old orphanage was in rubble from the tsunami. Circuit dug through the rubble to find a filing cabinet, which he opened. "That's weird," he said, "This is where they kept the other orphans' birth certificates. I can't find mine." "Strange," said Applejack. Suddenly, there was a green light behind them. "Come to find out the truth, my son?" said a male voice. Circuit turned around. There was a man in armor similar to Circuit's powered-up form, but he was taller and more muscular. "Who are you?" Circuit asked the man. "I come from the digital realm, Circuit" he said, "as do you. You see, you weren't born in this realm, but you were sent here to protect it." "That... explains a lot," Circuit said. "But are you really my father?" "Yes," he said, "My name is Erethor, and your birth name is Teramus, which, in the digital tongue, means 'he who protects.'" "Thank you, father," Circuit said, "I'll never forget this." "If you ever need to call upon me," said Erethor, as he gave Circuit a green crystal, "use this." Circuit nodded as Erethor vanished. "Well, that answers that," Circuit said. "So you're a hero from another dimension?" asked Rainbow Dash. "Awesome!" And she hugged him.
All the other girls cheered, while Crimson just folded his arms with an almost proud smile on his face. "And a protector he shall be...." The ground shook once more violently before stopping, causing buildings which were already damaged to collapse entirely. "That must be the end of the aftershocks..." Rarity said aloud.
"What do you think of us finding out what the hell is going on over there?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Good idea," said Circuit.
Sunset turned to look at the group. "What do you think we are dealing with?" Crimson remained silent before finally speaking, knowing what dangers they are about to fight. "Atlantis...." he spoke.
"Many thousands of years ago, Atlantis was a real continent sitting between North America and Europe in the middle of what is now the Atlantic Ocean. While the rest of mankind was generally tribal and primitive, the Atlantian's were a sub-species with an ludicrous amount of magical power, superhuman physical abilities and extreme lifespans. From what my grandfather told me about them, they resembled Elves more then Humans. Their rulers, aside from almost having the magical power of a Demi-God, could see the future as the oracle. They ruled half the planet at their peak at around 700bc, having colonies in the New World, Europe and Africa. Then...the Atlantians faced a terrible flood much like the one that killed so many around the world and they are believed to have all perished. Perhaps the final Emperor of Atlantis seen it coming and did what he could to prevent his own people being an ancient memory...." Crimson told the group. "I'm just as speechless as anyone else is that they have returned..."
