"Hey Twilight!" Sunset happily said. "Nice to see you! Ruby and Blast are just in the loungeroom if you wanted to say hello to the birthday boy."
"Hey, Ruby!" Twilight said, hugging Ruby. "Hey, Blast!" she added, patting his head. "I knew you'd show up," said Blast, "What kept you?" "Oh, you know, royal stuff..."
"Sounds boring..." Ruby rolled her eyes. "Obviously extremely important, but it sounds like that you never get time to relax sometimes."
Suddenly, Blast felt the urge to surpress a wingboner. "Excuse me a moment, Princess..." he said as he took Ruby by the hoof and ran to the broom closet.
Ruby was surprised at how Blast suddenly took her, and fairly soon, she was stuck in a pitch-black closet with her best friend.
"Uh..." he began awkwardly, "Listen, Ruby, I've... kinda wanted to take this to the next level, but didn't know how to say it."
"Wha.....what do you mean?" Ruby asked puzzled before she had a lightbulb shine in her head.. "Wait...you like me? Since when?"
Ruby couldn't help but looked in shock at what Blast was saying. She pulled him into a very warm hug, feeling his heartrate spike up once more. However, while she could feel both of their heartbeats, she did something out of the blue. She leaned towards him and kissed him, her lips making contact with his own as she almost melted into him.
Laughter was heard from the kitchen as Ruby broke the kiss. "We should....err....talk about this later. We don't want to get busted by our parents."
"Yeah...but...they might think we'd be up to...you know" Ruby said, shuffling her hoof as she blushed. "Actually, it doesn't matter. They likely already know." She then pulled Blast closer again and kissed him, all the while the adults laughed again from the kitchen. "Blast? Ruby?" Princess Twilight called out. "Where are you two?"
Blast opened the door after they finished kissing, and the two awkwardly fell out. "There you are," said Twilight. "What were you doing in the closet anyway?" But before Twilight could guess, Rainbow Dash and Circuit Breaker came in. "Blast, were you...?" asked Rainbow Dash cautiously. "We, uh..." "THAT'S MY BOY!!!" Circuit cheered as he gave his son a hoof bump.
Crimson and Sunset both walked into the room, looking at the embarrassed faces of Blast and their daughter. Before Sunset could even ask, Crimson looked like he couldn't be prouder. Sunset, on the other hoof, tried to hide the goofy smile that crept up on her chin. "Well..." she finally spoke. "This was unexpected!"
"I... thanks, Dad," said Blast with an awkward smile. "I always knew my son was a player," Circuit replied, patting him on the back. "Honey, our present," Rainbow Dash reminded her husband. "Oh, right!" Circuit went upstairs.
Crimson and Sunset watched Circuit go upstairs, all while making eye-contact with Ruby. Ruby felt like she was going to die of embarrassment, her face going bright red despite her parent's secretly loving their daughter grow up. After all, they were doing the exact same thing when they were her age. Hell, Sunset was pregnant at this stage.
