"Come on everypony" Princess Twilight said to Spike and their saviors. "Come down stairs, I'll make breakfast."
Blast went downstairs. Suddenly, Spike coughed up a letter. "It's from the Wonderbolts," he said. Blast took a look at it. To whom it may concern, We regret to report that Lt. Rainbow Dash is sick with a stomach bug and cannot attend today's aerial demonstration in Canterlot, so unless anypony can replace her, we will be unable to continue with the demonstration. Regards, -Spitfire, Captain of the Wonderbolts
Ruby came down with Blast and looked at the letter with him. "This could be a big chance, Blast! I'm sure your mother would be very proud if you did a great job if you filled in!"
"Are... are you sure?" asked Blast, a concerned look on his face. "I mean, I can fly and all, but I'm not my mother."
"I've seen how you fly, Blast! Your fantastic!" Ruby told him, all the while Princess Twilight nodded in response.
"Knock em' dead, Blast!" Spike said with a thumbs up, the tall adolescent dragon encouraging the Pegasus.
----- Blast Processing hurried to Wonderbolt HQ to fill in for his mother. He knocked on the door and did a salute as Spitfire opened it. "Blast Processing, son of Lieutenant Rainbow Dash, reporting for duty, ma'am!" he said.
"So you're Rainbow Dash's son, huh?" said Spitfire, "You know, your mom saved my life a couple times." "So I heard," nodded Blast. His mother had told him all about the second time she had ever done a Sonic Rainboom.
"I'm sure of it," said Blast. "Then good luck," said Spitfire, "Spare uniforms are in the locker room in the back." Blast nodded, and went to the locker room to go change.
About an hour before the show, Ruby watched Blast perform in a Hot-Air balloon, while Twilight watched from a nearby cloud.
----- The sun was beginning to set. Blast flew towards Canterlot with the other Wonderbolts. "So you're Rainbow's son and replacement, huh?" asked Soarin, second-in-command, "She's told us a lot about you." "I figured," said Blast, as they began their landing.
By now, a large crowd was ready to watch Blast and the rest of the Wonderbolt's perform. The sunset only added to the tension and excitement as the show was about to start.
Suddenly, strong winds began to pick up, knocking Spitfire, Soarin, and Fleetfoot severely off course. They had been knocked out of the air. Blast was shocked, and flew towards them, determined to save their lives. He pushed against the wind harder and harder as it began to blow faster and faster. Suddenly, there was a flash of light from behind him, and he was being propelled forward by some immense force. He grabbed the Wonderbolts and got them safely on the ground. "You guys okay?" he asked them. "We're fine," said Fleetfoot, "but look at you! You just did a Sonic Rainboom! And in less than seven seconds! Not even your mother could do that!" "Wait... what?!" said Blast. He turned around, to see that he had indeed done a Sonic Rainboom. "If you hadn't done that... we'd be done for," said Spitfire.
The crowd looked in awe before applauding, all the while Twilight couldn't help but feel proud for Rainbow's son. Ruby however, had tears of joy in her eyes.
The crowd just went into a frenzy only a few moments after Blast pulled his Sonic Rainboom, cheering loudly at the Pegasus that saved the lives of the Wonderbolts.
