As Circuit was about to block a goal, Rainbow Dash pulled back her leg and readied for a hard kick, and when foot and ball met, the result was a missile of fire and leather that Circuit dodged out of fear for his own safety. "How'd you..." was all the terrified young man's vocal cords could muster. "I'm just that awesome," she replied smugly, which only worried Circuit even more.
Crimson went wide-eyed at what he seen. His jaw merely dropped even! He looked at the ball of fire and leather that sailed across the field, almost worried for Circuit for having to try and stop it without ripping his arms off. That's if it was even physically possible. "H-how!?" Crimson was only able to say.
Circuit knew that he had to be careful in order to win. He shuddered to think of what would happen if he lost. "What's wrong, huh? Scared?" taunted Rainbow Dash. Circuit nodded nervously as the match continued.
Crimson covered his hand over his eyes as the girls almost looked in amazement and fear of what was happening on that soccer field. "Wow, he's about to get pounded" Applejack commented. "He's boned, that's for sure" Pinkie Pie couldn't help but giggle at the comment. Crimson's response was something else, merely shaking his head. "Should I help him?"
Crimson sighed before watching the beatdown that Circuit was about to receive. "I'm afraid we might be witnessing a murder..."
Circuit's fear quickly turned to determination as he realized how dire the situation was. If he wanted to win, he had to step it up. Soon, Circuit was catching up to Rainbow in terms of score, and towards the end, they were tied at 5-5. One more goal was all they had time for... but it would be enough.
The girls, who had been watching in fear for most part, was starting to witness something amazing with Circuit made his comeback. Crimson looked in utter surprise as the boy below was not only stepping up his game, but turned the tables completely. "Well, I'all be dammed" Applejack told the others, saying what the others are thinking. "Um, surely he's keeping up with her somehow" Fluttershy said to the others. "She doesn't like losing." "Wait...." Crimson said before looking at Flutters. "How bad does she take it?" "Well...." Rarity gulped. "There was this one time..."
Rainbow Dash was feeling tense. She thought that Circuit would have been easy pickings, but he turned out to be a very competent player. She was somewhat starting to respect him in a way, as he gave her something she sorely needed: a challenge. The time had come. Rainbow Dash was about to make the final kick. Circuit perpared to block... only to notice the ball missing the net entirely.
"She...missed?" Sunset said in shock, leaving the other girls in total surprise as well. For as long as they've known Rainbow Dash, she was the captain of the team and had the makings of a soccer protege. But.... "No...way!" Pinkie said in surprise. The ball went flying across the soccer field, past the goals and landed right nearby the carpark. For a moment, the air was tense and the atmosphere was electric. A stunned silence filled everyone, except for Crimson, who didn't really understand what was going on during his first day of High School. "What...." A shocked Rainbow said, collapsing to her knees in disbelief. "I...lost?
"Wh... what's the score?" she asked nervously. "5 apiece," replied Circuit, panting and sweating, "It's... a tie." "Oh... okay," she said, somewhat relieved. In her mind, since it was a tie, she didn't lose. "I gotta admit... you really pushed me... harder than I thought... you would..." Circuit scratched his head. "I... I don't know how I did that." Rainbow Dash stood up. "I... I gotta ask your name." "Circuit... Circuit Breaker..." he replied, holding out his hand. "I just moved here from California." Rainbow Dash took it and gave him a handshake. "Name's Rainbow Dash. Nice to meet you." "Hey, if it's any consolation, I have insuranc-" began Circuit, but Rainbow Dash smiled as she held up a finger to his lips. "You don't need to worry about that," she replied. "I know someone who can fix the door for cheap, so it's not really an issue. "Listen... Circuit, sometimes, you just gotta let bygones be bygones, you know?" Circuit smiled. "I think I can do that."
One month later... 5:34pm: Pinkie Pie's House It had been at least a month since the two boys had their first day at Canterlot High School. For the two of them, the first four weeks had been tough for getting introduced into the new environment around them. For Circuit, this would have been easier for him as he had only lived interstate. The integration period would have been difficult from time to time, but when it came to fitting in, he had a much easier time then Crimson. Crimson on the other hand, was a much different story. His first day was good, but having moved into a new country from a broken city almost 9,000 miles away was always difficult. He barely knew his way around the school and Canterlot in general, he sometimes struggled to get used to some of the cultural differences and still felt like an outside that was intruding on such a tight-knit community of surprisingly friendly people. This bothered Crimson since his first day. Pinkie Pie and some of the girls seen how the two boys has been having some trouble settling down, and wished to thank the two of them for being her new friends. Not only that, but the girls jumped onto the idea of Pinkie's proposal. While her parents were out on a much needed vacation, Pinkie Pie secretly organized a sleepover between her and her friends. Her siblings, knowing the house would be chaos for the night, decided to spend the night at a friends house together. After school on a Friday, Pinkie eagerly opened the doors for everyone she invited. While she was eager to see all of her friends, her heart skipped a beat for another person she had been thinking about.... Who was late...
"So, why didn't Crimson show up again, uh... Ponkie, was it?" asked Circuit with concern. "Sorry, I'm not the best with names." "It's Pinkie, silly," she corrected cheerfully, but then added, in a worried tone, "but I do wonder where he is..."
Sunset walked over to the door. "I'm sure he wouldn't be late for no reason." She placed a hand on her shoulder reassuringly before looking Circuit. "Hey Circuit" Music was distant inside of the house, but the voices of the other girls were coming from the loungeroom. Pinkie giggled at her own thoughts in front of the two. "Guess we get to start our little game without him for now." She told him. "We're about to play spin the bottle"
Circuit chuckled slightly. He knew that "spin the bottle" was a sleepover tradition, but he wasn't sure it was still played after the 90s had ended until now. "I'm game," he replied.
Pinkie excitedly jumped up and down while Sunset rolled her eyes at the almost adorable emotions nearby her. They all went into the other room, where the rest of the girls had already been taking turn upon turn. Flutters was blushing at something, perhaps the thought of an earlier question, but whatever it was didn't matter... "Since Circuit's just arrive, ah' think he gets to have the first shot" Applejack happily said before scooting over to make room.
Circuit sat down and gave the used root beer bottle a spin, with the opening pointing at Rarity. "I think I know how this goes..." said Circuit, "So Rarity, truth or dare?" "Well, truth I suppose," she answered. "Okay... what do you want to do with your life if fashion doesn't quite work out?"
Rarity scratched her chin for a moment. "Well, honestly I haven't thought that far ahead. I usually tend to draw and design most of my dresses, so perhaps an Artist might be suitable." Pinkie smiled before suddenly, she took the bottle and spun it. "My turn!" The bottle went around the group a few times before slowly stopping towards Rainbow. The colourful haired girl merely scoffed at the bottle at her. "Dare. Go ahead, I can throw anything you want at me. Do your worst...." Pinkie soon had a devilish smile on her face. "I dare you to kiss Circuit...."
Rainbow Dash gasped. "Hey, wait a minute! I've only known the dude for a month!" she said frantically. Circuit became nervous. Did... did she know that he had a crush on Rainbow Dash? No... no, she couldn't possibly, there's just no way. "You know he wants it," said Pinkie slyly. The other girls began to chant "KISS HIM!! KISS HIM!! KISS HIM!!" Pinkie was right. Circuit did want Dash to kiss him. But... here, now? Circuit began to sweat profusely, unsure of what was going to happen or how he would react.
"KISS HIM!! KISS HIM!! KISS HIM!!" The girls chanted loudly. Rainbow looked like she was going to faint from being so nervous, biting her lip as she awkwardly played with her fingers. At the same time, her eyes weren't off from Circuit. "Okay! Okay! Sheeesh!" Rainbow said all flustered, before crawling over to Circuit as the girls watched excitedly. Then in the blink of an eye, her lips made contact with Circuit's delicately. The girls cheered loudly before Rainbow, out of feelings she had been hiding, passionately went deeper then expected... "Okay Rainbow, it's over now" Rarity said with a smug smile.
