"Well, let's keep going until we find something..." said Circuit, as he drove into the desert. "Hopefully we find someone I CAN shoot," said Pinkie, "or maybe a working TV..." "You wish," snarked Sunset, "Shelter is our top priority at the moment, and anything else is a distraction." "She's right," said Circuit, "We'll have time to satiate your appetite for shooting people later, Pinkie." Pinkie sighed as they went further into the desert.
The further the group went into the desert, the less life began to exist around them. Civilisation appeared to grow remote until eventually, nothing remained but the scorching desert heat. Some buildings did appear every now and then, like a gas station or a hotel, but that was it.
Eventually, the group stopped at what appeared to be a run-down gas station. "Alright, guys," said Circuit, "This is where we'll be spending the end of the world." "I thought it already ended," said Fluttershy sarcastically.
"Looks like it needs a makeover" Rarity said out loud. "Could be useful if we're setting up shop here." Sunset replied.
"Will there be things to shoot at?" asked Pinkie. "ARE YOU INSANE?!?" said Twilight. "Yes," said Pinkie, before making random spitting noises. "Well, there are old motor oil cans lying around," said Circuit. "Anywhere's good, as long as we can get ready for Gilda," said Rainbow Dash. "Hey guys, do ya'll hear that?" asked Applejack. Sure enough, there was the sound of children playing.
"This can either be white noise....or the real thing" Crimson said, taking out a small yet powerful revolver. "
As they approached, they could make out what the children were saying. "Are ya sure this'll help, Sweetie Belle?" asked one of the voices. "Of course it will, Apple Bloom," said the other, "Now stand back!" Suddenly, a window to their left shattered as a can flew through it. Afterwards, a bat flew out of it. "Hey, Apple Bloom, somebody's coming!"
Most of the group prepared themselves for a fight, with most of the girls having their weapons out. Although, these children didn't exactly sound like a threat.
"Applejack? Is that you?" asked the first voice. "Apple Bloom!" said Applejack, as she ran into the building, "Are ya alright?" "Ah'm fine," Apple Bloom replied, "Things just haven't been the same since Scootaloo died..." "Guys, it's alright, they're Scootaloo's friends!" said Applejack to the others.
They all lowered their weapons, with Pinkie being the last, who seemed disappointed that these went enemies. "Your a long way from home, Apple bloom" Crimson said, crossing his arms with a faint smile on his face
"Yeah..." said Apple Bloom, "We had to get away from Canterlot ever since they killed Scootaloo..." Rainbow Dash kneeled beside Apple Bloom and said, "Don't worry, Apple Bloom. I'll make sure that Gilda gets what's coming to her." Apple Bloom patted Rainbow Dash on the shoulder and said, "Thanks, Rainbow."
"Well...we're glad that you both made it out safely. Gilda practically rules half of the Canterlot now, which means getting back at her will be dangerous......and it's possible that some of us won't make it. But...it's personal now, and we will do whatever it takes to return home."
"Well..." said Sweetie Belle, "Maybe we can help." "I'm sorry," said Circuit, "It's two dangerous." Rainbow nodded. "He's right, it's best if you two don't get involved." "What if we said we know some people who can help?" asked Apple Bloom. "We'll need 'em," replied Twilight. "Uhhh, ya THINK?!" sneered Fluttershy.
"But...who can we trust?" Crimson said to the group. ------------------------------------- Trixie Lulamoon was busy being the butt monkey for Gilda and Lightning Dust. She was sitting down in the middle of what used to be an old office performing some paper-work for the gang, just as many other gang members wondered through the hallways. She wasn't having a good time, she was a joke. She didn't receive any respect from anybody. Just as she had finished her paperwork, one of the Gang members went through the door and dropped an enormous pile of paper onto her desk. The noise almost scaring the living daylights out of her. "Wake up! We've got work to do, do your job!" The gang member rudely said before slamming the door shut, causing the paper to fall down and spread out in an impossible pile. Now not only did Trixie had to fill in the paperwork, but sort it all out....again. Trixie groaned before slamming her head on the desk. This wasn't a good day.
"So, what's that clown Lulamoon up to now?" asked Lightning Dust. "What she's told, hopefully," said Gilda.
Trixie had her head on the desk as she looked at the pile of papers on the desk, looking disappointed. Was this where the rest of her life was? Stuck being miserable as the person nobody liked in the only home she's ever had since the Apocalypse
"Well, let's hope she keeps doing what she's told," said Lightning Dust. ----- It had been a week since Circuit and the group arrived at the gas station. Everyone seemed more satisfied now that they had shelter.
Their new shelter was already decent, in that its former inhabitants once tried to fortify the location with makeshift walls used out of old wrecked cars piled on the top of each other. Unfortunately, the four skeletons found in the back of the gas station shown that they never finished. And now Circuit and the group continued their work, before ultimately finishing on the forth day of arrival.
