Meanwhile, Rainbow Dash was busy working on a surprise for Circuit Breaker. It was a fully working Killer Instinct 2 arcade cabinet, but it needed some repairs. She had bought it off Craigslist for about 50 dollars. Then she overheard Circuit and Sunset talking about how Crimson would be getting out of the hospital on Thursday. So she immediately went to the nearby Mom-'n'-Pop video store on the street corner and looked for a good movie for him. Eventually, she found a copy of Guardians of the Galaxy on Blu-Ray. She brought it back to the school, gift-wrapped it, and handed it to Sunset and told her, "Give this to Crimson when you next see him." Meanwhile, at the hospital... "Whoa, doc, I can't believe we did it!" said a nurse, "The first successful multiple bionic organ replacement in human history!" "And it only costed us six million dollars," said the doctor. "He's better, stronger, faster than he was before!" Suddenly, Crimson began to stir...
He shuffled around his bed, but Crimson soon eventually regained consciousness. He thought that he was going to die only a couple of days ago, but it seemed that fate gave him other plans. He looked around to find multiple doctors surrounding him, he must have been operated on.
"Um....i feel....better. I guess?" Crimson said, still out of the loop due to due to all the painkillers he was still on. "What happened to me exactly ?"
"Most of your internal organs and 82% of your skeletal system were damaged beyond any medical treatment, and we could not find suitable donors for transplantation," said the doctor. "But then we recieved the funds necessary to perform an experimental bionic implantation procedure. As you can tell, it went swimmingly."
"So...im technically a cyborg now?" Crimson responded before running his finger on the scars he got on his upper body. Not only that, but he actually felt stronger as well. He felt like he got a six pack, although he couldnt tell due to his surgical gown still being on. "What day is it? Is she safe?" The man responded. He fell unconcious before he found out what happened to Sunset and Spitfire. He was confused, yet felt increadible at the same time.
"The date is Wednesday, December 10, 2014," said the doctor, "and as for your girlfriend, Sunset..." But before the doctor could finish, Crimson passed out. "Quick, get me a 25 oz. shot of adrenaline," the doctor ordered a nearby nurse. After he was injected with adrenaline, Crimson jolted back to life. "You know, it's really rude to lose consciousness when someone is talking to you," the doctor said sarcastically. "As I was saying, your friends are all alright, but they've been really worried about you." Suddenly, the intercom blared: "Patient number 42, you have a visitor." "Oh, speak of the devil," said the doctor, as he opened the curtain to reveal Sunset, Rainbow and Circuit standing on the other side. Sunset was holding a gift-wrapped box.
"Is it alright if i cou-" Sunset asked the doctor. "Of course, go ahead" The doctor gestured, as Sunset put the gift on a nearby table and hugged him tightly, resting her head on his chest. "I thought that we were going to lose you. That I was going to lose you." Sunset said sadly. "You almost did. We have a report on what his condition was like before, and what we had to do to him. You can read it if you are curious." The Doctor replied. "I'll give you some time alone to catch up." He said before walking through the curtain. Leaving Crimson and his friends in the room. Crimson just weakly smiled. "Hey guys...."
"Hey, dude" said Circuit Breaker, as he returned the smile. "So from what I've been reading on your chart, it's like you've been turned into the Six Million Dollar Man, almost literally." "Which is SO AWESOME!!!" said Rainbow Dash enthusiastically. "I'm kinda jealous, in fact." "Anyway," said Circuit Breaker, "how do you feel? You look better than ever, if that's any indication."
"No surprise there," said Circuit Breaker, "It's supposed to feel like that. That means your bionics are working properly."
Sunset handed Crim his gift. "We got you something while you were getting your operation. Hope you enjoy it." Crimson opened the box and smiled with what he found. "Guardians of the Galaxy? In Blu-Ray? You guys are amazing!"
"It was the least we could do," said Circuit Breaker. Suddenly, the doctor came back into the room. "Mr. Lionheart," he said, "It's time to test your capabilities. Try to stand up."
Crim took a deep breath as he opened the bed cover up to reveal himself in the surgical gown. It didnt look like much, but Crimson was stronger then an Ox underneath his gown. He looked at the ground and slowly moved closer to the end of the bed before allowing himself to drop to the floor. He was standing up, and the hairs on his neck rose out of excitement.
"Follow me to the testing area, Mr. Lionheart," said the doctor, as he walked out towards the testing room.
Crimson followed the doctors, while the others were able to watch to survey the results that the new and improved Lionheart now had. Soon, Crim found himself in a large room full of all sorts of equipment. He wanted to know what he was capable of now, something that seemed to greatly excite him.
"Alright, Crimson," said the doctor, "Here's a bench press and a treadmill. These will be used to gauge your top strength and speed." On the ground were various weights, ranging from 5 to 250 kilograms. (And I don't even know what that is my own measurement system. International relations sure are hard.)
(America seems kind of backwards in terms of measurement. You, Burma and another country are the only three in the world to still use the Imperial System. Everywhere else in the world uses metric. Weird, huh?) After getting changed into some more appropriate attire, which included a pair of shorts and running shoes, Crimson took his first test to measure what he could lift. He decided to start out slow by lifting half his body weight, which he managed to do easily. From then on, more weight was added. By the end of the strength tests, Crimson could lift just over half a ton (somewhere around 1,100 pounds, if my math is right). Any more weight after this limit however, and he was under serious strain. Next came to measure his speed and stamina. Like the last test, the treadmill went faster and faster every couple of minutes. Soon, Crimson actually outperformed the treadmill before the doctors decided to move him to a 100 metre sprint to measure his pure speed. "Alright Crimson. Just run as fast as you can! We will measure your speed." The Doctor said before waiting a second to watch Crimson prepare himself. Once he said "Go!", Crimson absolutely took off from the starting line and ran as fast as he could until passing the finish line. When he pressed his stopwatch, he looked at it in shock. "That's....impossible" The Doctor said quietly before bringing over another doctor to confirm the results. "The time was....8.58 seconds, he's the fastest man on the planet."
(You're thinking of Liberia. Thank God for Google, eh? Also, fun fact, the American state of Montana has three times as many cows as it does people. If that's not weird, I don't know what is.) Circuit Breaker was astonished at what his friend had become. He had become the strongest and fastest human alive. Rainbow Dash leaned over and whispered in Sunset's ear, "You're dating a freaking superhero, you know that, right?"
Sunset sort of blushed when she thought about what Dash just said. "Yeah...I guess i'am." While shirtless, Crimson looked completely ripped. He looked and felt phenomenal, almost like he was borderline superhuman. He knew that he was strong and fast, but the doctors tried something new. "Time to test your reflexes" The Doctors told him. When studied, he seemed to feel like that he could see things in slow motion whenever he wanted. Perception was increased as well, and his eyesight was greatly enhanced. Intelligence didn't need to be improved, not like he needed it anyway, he was already clever enough as it was. If he had some fighting ability, he would have essentially become Batman. "Oh....wow" Sunset said, trying not to blush about who she seen before him. Who she seen was the same man, but he was essentially superhuman now. She turned to face Dash and Breaker. "Should he know about what happened to Spitfire? I mean, he wouldn't do anything to her. But...he'll destroy the goons she had. They were all from CHS as well, God knows what is going to happen when he finds out who they were."
