YAY! Thanks for joining! Guys, I feel like a douchey douche. It's been aweek and halkf since i promised to get this thing started, and not only is it NOT STARTED, I'm actually fairly active in another game(Birth of Chaos), so I have no excuse. Come this weekend I will get it started. I promise, I will get up a start post, even if it's a weak dinky thing compared to my usual robust posting. I apoligize and hope you'll forgive me.
(It's ok. Im sure my post will be large enough to kick the runner in this rp ((Not meaning by kicking you)))
((No it's fine. There are other rps that I'm in that have been dead for about half a year to a year))
I'm sorry, I didn't want to read through every page to check, but have many of the main ponies been taken (Rarity, Applejack, etc.)? And seeing as there were posts made here today, I assume this still open, right?
Spoiler: The History and Promise of Equestria Once upon a time, there was a magical land that was choice above all others. The land was rich and fertile, the hills sparkled with precious gems, and the weather rolled through the seasons with just the perfect amount of sunshine, wind, rain and snow. It was a paradise in it's own right, and would excite the mind of any who came with it's endless possibilities. Small wonder then that three tribes of ponies chose this place to settle in. The earth ponies made use of the land and put forth magnificient orchards and crops, wondrous gardens and rustic towns. The pegasi took care of the clouds, the winds and the rain, and brought forth glorious citadels in the sky, rainbows bright and shining, and beasts of the sky both mighty and gentle. The unicorns found the precious things of the land and raised grand roads, majestic cities, and sweeping works of art. And through their work, the landbecame even more glorious to behold, and they called it Equestria. When the leaders of those three tribes and their aids had grown old and content under many good years, they promised that the virtues that brought them together would always lead and be of aid to their fair nation, and gave themselves to a mighty and potent magic that would help bring harmony to the land in times of crisis. They bound themselves to some of the finest of gems in all of Equestria and became powerful forces of those things they treasured most: Honesty, Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Loyalty, and the Magic of lives that lived under those principles. The people called them the Elements of Harmony, and guarded them carefully. Many battles have occured for this land, and long have the little ponies worked and fought to maintain what is theirs. They garnered the attention of two wise and powerful alicorns, who went and aided them, comforted them, and lead them through some dark times. With the aid of their princesses, the ponies have overcome chaos, conquest, and even sadly betrayal. They have endured for over a thousand years living by their precepts of Harmony, and have become a unique people. In many ways innocent, the ponies of Equestria nevertheless have strong souls that allow them to endure and overcome many ofthe dark challenges that would come their way. It's a new day, a new age, as ancient powers begin to stir who would greedily claim the prize land of Equestria. It is a land that is home to monsters in all their variety, from pookas and parasprites to dragons, hydras, and windigos. The time will come when each pony will need to stand for their home, be it against even simple but aggrivating problems to eldritch beings with old grudges. It's the time when stories are made. Are you ready to tell yours? Spoiler: The Mane Six Called Away Some days before... "Twilight, c'mon, we've been waiting here all morning. I could have gone to the mountain and back about three times by now!", Rainbow Dash complained, flying around the inside of the purple ponies library with all the energy that unending boredom can provide. Twilight sighed and rolled her eyes a little as she continued nudging through the books on the shelf nearest her bed."For the hundredth time, I'm sorry Rainbow, but I really want to share the story of Highland McCloud the Immortal when we get there, and for the life of me I can't remember where I put that book of legends.", she said with consternation as she shoved aside the last book on the shelf and found it to be 'Magical Warts and What You Can Cook With Them'. "Spike, you found it yet?" "Nope. It's not like we make it particularly easy to find something specific" Spike replied. He knew that they should have gotten to reorganizing the books the week before, but both he and Twilight had been far more focused on planning and preparing the essentials of camping trip, so it had slipped past them both. In his opinion though, Twilight should probably forget about it, but she had her mind set. Pinkie Pie had been busy bouncing around humming some silly little diddy while balancing a book on her nose as her friends were looking around, but on hearing this latest strain of conversation, she chimed in cheerfully "Well I found this book easy enough, will it do? 'Myths, Legends, and Other Bogus Stuff', by Dusty Tomes-sounds boring enough!". Twilight froze then sighed. "Yes, Pinkie, that's it, thank you. Now let's get going before-Spike, what's wrong?" Spike bloated, puffed up his cheeks, then shot out a length of green fire that materialized into a scroll. The wax seal was Celestia's, but it was different from her normal one, bearing a coat of arms behind it. Twilight had seen that seal only once before, but that was when Discord had broken out. Whatever it was, it couldn't be good. Twilight picked it up and opened it, reading it quickly, her eyebrows knitting together in stern worry. "What's up Twilight?" Rainbow asked, knowing that looking and knowing it wasn't good. "The hike's cancelled girls. Let's get the others and move for Canterlot now. I'll explain on the way" -------------- "So, what's going on Twi?" Applejack asked once the train for Canterlot got started, sitting accross from her on the opposite bench and wearing a slight frown that spoke volumes about her concern. The other ponies turned and looked intently at Twilight, looking for answers. Twilight took a breath, and then started. "Shortly after the princesses defeated Discord, there was a brief fight for who would rule Equestria with another alicorn named Incarnae, who had also witnessed the horrors of Discord's reign. He felt that much of the problem came from the ponies themselves, being easy to manipulate into fighting each other. Incarnae wanted to rule the country and use the Elements of Harmony as a weapon against the citizens, to magically force harmony on all of them. Princess Celestia and Princess Luna fought him and cast him down, calling on others of their kind to take him afterwards and to keep him away from Equestria." "Now Incarnae has returned, and he's seeking an audience with the princesses to...make a peace", Twilight said, but was cut off by Rainbow Dash. "Wait, wait, wait-you're telling me that this nutjob wants peace? After all of that? I don't buy it! Why would other alicorns let this maniac go? And can he even do that with the Elements?" Twilight raised a hoof and spoke more authoritatively to keep people quiet until she finished. "I don't know the answer to all of that. I didn't even know there were more alicorns, so I can only guess at their minds. And from what I know of the Elements of Harmony, it doesn't seem likely but not impossible. THe point is that he's saying that he's seen the error of his ways is out to make amends. Princess Celestia feels they owe him the oppurtunity to hear him out, but neither she or Luna fully trust him. That's why they summoned us-to be ready to use the Elements of Harmony against him should this turn into a fight". "Do we have any idea what he's capable of, what he's bringing with him?" Applejack asked. "Celestia has only mentioned that he isn't coming alone, that he made mention of three of his children coming with him" "Well then, that's easy enough" Rarity said without a trace of irony. "I'll just bedazzle his family and let the Elements do the rest." "You really believe that, don't you?" Rainbow asked dryly. "Hopefully it won't come to needing the Elements." Twilight interjected before it could turn into a squable. "Maybe he really does want to settle things. But Princess Celestia has already warned us about him. He's an old and crafty foe, and apparently has a lot to be bitter about. So let's be on our guard, everypony". The girls agreed and conversed a little bit more about him, then moved onto more comforting things. The sun was setting behind the mountains, and night was falling. Even as the ponies got off at the station and made for Canterlot Castle, where the most powerful people they knew were right now, with plans and words of confidence swimming in their heads, even then... They knew this wasn't going to go well. Moving to Ponyville-Vision's Troubles. "Gosh darnit, how much farther is this place?!" Vision grunted as he walked over yet ANOTHER hill. He had been travelling from Manehattan for days-weeks, actually, and whatever charm there was to the roadtrip was lost to him now. The U-DRAW trailer had been heavy and cumbersome to begin with, and despite being an Earth Pony, Vision wasn't built for endurance or energy that made trips like this bearable. Despite his complaining, he knew that it was because of that fact he didn't see Ponyville. Each day he was going shorter and shorter distances as the wear of moving took it's toll. He should still be able to reach by mid-day, he reckoned-in fact, he reckoned he saw what might be some of Sweet Apple Acres in the distance-but that didn't comfort him much. He wanted it to be done and over with, and he really didn't want to do it in the first place. "Still better than moving to one of the frontier towns like Appleloose", Vision groaned in his head, trying to remind himself it wasn't such a bad deal-at least he would have a house and didn't have to do more of this sort of stuff. It left him wondering what sort of job he actually COULD take up, as he was certain Ponyville already had a teacher for foals. He seriously doubted that there was much demand for advanced classes like the ones he had taught in Manehattan-Ponyville was a more rural town, which probably meant the ponies there would stick to their specialites, and wouldn't need aid in developing them. He could try spearheading some career in writing, but away from major business centers he somehow doubted that would pan out. Vision finally crashed when he pulled up over another hill. He knew it, he could see Sweet Apple Acres, and finally beyond it was Ponyville. His heart more flopped around in mild relief than leaping with joy, but he couldget there. But he knew he was tired enough, and that the distance was great enough, that his guess of getting there by mid-day was off- it would be the end of the day before he got into the town, which didn't include finding where his house was or even getting enough out to crash. Vision cursed and and nearly had a tantrum when he saw a pony flying around in the sky- a dark blue pony dressed in greys and blacks moving with frustration in the sky over the forest, as though the pony was looking for something. He called out to the pony. "Hey, you! What'chu looking for?" He was lucky. The pegasus pasued, and then flew down in front of him, giving Vision a better look at him. The dark blue pony had a mane of dark purple and greay stylized in one of those sort of punk styles-the kind DJ Pon-3 had, Vision thought(and immeadiately wished he hadn't killed his MP3 so early on his trip on yet another reflection), and his tail was similar, jagged and edgy. He wore a long coat of black and a grey almost jumpsuit-ish thing beneath it. But what was most interesting was the ponies eyes-they were vivid green, almost glowing, and he had no pupils. The pony frowned at him and said aggrivatedly "What do you want?" "Just wondering what you were looking for, thas all, calm down." Vision replied. "Pff, I'm in a hurry." the pony replied, and moved to go. "Soooo, what are you loking for?" Vision said wryly, in that aggrivating Mr. Know-It-All tone that always got people to respond. He had had students worse than this kid. The pony paused and glowered, then rolled his eyes upward in thought, before responding. "I'm looking for a place in the Everfree Forest, and you're not from here, so I seriously doubt you could help, so if you'll excuse me" he said, before he made again to leave. "Yeah, but I bet the ponies in Ponyville would know where it is, and my family wrote ahead to let them know I was coming, so maybe I could find someone to help you with that" That caught the pony's attention. Vision smiled. Young ponies these days. Always had to do everything themselves. The pony shuffled a little bit and then grunted "Do you think so?" "I place good odds on it. I'll make you a deal-Help me move this thing, and I'll help you find wherever it is you're looking for" The pony furrowed his brow, but Vision kept that smirk on, that aggrivating, work-your-way-into-the brain smile that wormed it's way through stubborness, seeing the inevitable. Finally, the pony gave an exasperated sigh. "Alright fine." "Perfect! Then let's get going, Mr...uh, name?" Vision said, slipping out from behind the pull bar. "Dark, Zenith Dark" "Alright then! let's get to it!" Vision said, trotting the way ahead as the pegasus began to pull the trailer. In Vision's mind, this was easy. Get there, park the trailer, convince the kid to wait a day, convince someone else to show the way, settle down, and start working out his real problems. Easy peasy one two threesy. He couldn't be more wrong if he tried. OOC: AND WITH THAT I start the game, bringing the villian in tow. Let's get this show on the road. Oh, and for those wanting summaries, here you go. Remember, Keep OOC posts in the OOC thread and help us build this into an awesome story!
Kyle was just sitting in the library, it had been a month sense he landed in the everfree forest, and sense then he had been reading up on history as well as flying books and ways to return lost memorys
Gears alighted in a copse of trees. The sun is getting fairly high, and he is tired. He slipped out of his saddlebags and settled down to nap his way through the afternoon heat. "'Should probably make it to Ponyville by the end of sunset..." he commented to himself, dozing in the shade.
Rashall stayed in the shade of the Shadowed Forest, knowing that nopony would ever come near the woods for there mysterious nature. Rashall really didn't like going into town that much since most ponies gave him awkward glances. What he did notice were two ponies he did not know, if he knew any that is, and decided to see what they where up to.
