"Friends," he said he stuck out his left hoof and shook hoofs. "Hm.. where could Samuel be?" he said scanning the landscape "Well do you want to sleep in these tents or a house," .
"I like sleeping outside, makes me feel more in touch with nature. You should try it some time, you spend tonight out here if you want I always carry an extra bed roll around. What do you say?" asks Rashall politely.
Matilda was sleeping, half on her bed half on the floor. She had been staying up all night working on one of her experiments. She was snoring and dreaming of getting a prize for her studies, but her ears suddenly perked up when she heard some fizzing. Matilda climbed out of bed and slowly walked towards the door, listening to the sound. "Is that my......OH MY CELESTIA I LEFT IT SITTING OVERNIGHT! I NEED TO FIX IT BEFORE I BLOW UP PONYVILLE!" She dashed out of the room, and ran down the stairs into her lab. The lab had six tables, five of which arranged in a way that resembled a maze. They were littered with beakers and test tubes, along with large diagrams and ideas written on pieces of paper scattered around. The other table was set off to the side, occupied with computers and mostly wires. Under the table, there was a jungle of wires. It would probably take hours to untangle them all just by looking at it, so Matilda never tried. She directed her attention to one beaker in the middle of her room sitting over a flame, which was fizzing. "Oh Celestia, how do I fix this again......" Matilda mumbled to herself as she scrambled around the room, grabbing various test tube and beakers, hooking them up with each other and looking at a diagram every once in a while. The beaker started fizzing more and more until finally, Matilda ducked under a table, waiting for the explosion. She had happened to jostle the leg of the table, which made a test tube fall over. Some of the liquid in it mixed with the liquid in the fizzing beaker, and stopped the explosion. Matilda opened an eye and sighed with relief. "Whew. That was close..." She came out from under the table, but accidentally hit it again with her flank. Test tubes and beakers collided with each other causing a domino effect, liquid got on the diagrams, and when two particular beakers mixed together, there was a huge explosion. Not big enough to blow up Ponyville, but still strong. When it ended, there was black soot everywhere, on the ground, the walls, and Matilda's face which had a surprised expression on it. Her mane was sticking up everywhere, and when her sister opened the blackened door with breakfast for her, she was just silent and closed it again. "Ehhhhhh........"
"Well fine," he said "but i am going to sleep in the second tent if that is ok with you,". He grabs the bed roll from the ground and enters the second tent "wow it is actually pretty roomy in here,". When he was eating some more he had heard a loud explosion he exited his tent "hey Rashall did you hear that?"
Grey finishes his work for the day; Deciding he has had enough with his present Workbench, which is seeing the last of it's days at This point, he puts up a "Be back in 15 Minutes" sign, And heads out to visit Samuel, wondering If he can get something arranged. [Space break] He finds the place he was looking for with Only minor difficulty (the place being 'Rocket carts') Seeing that the signs marks the store as closed he, He ponders why it's so; Most stores should be open today. He tries knocking on the shops door anyway.
Samuel was finishing up the last of his work for the day. The final of the three carts had been painted and was drying. Dear Applejack had picked up Sweet Apple Acres' newest addition. He was just getting ready to walk out the door when somepony began knocking. Samuel was puzzled because he was pretty sure he had never turned the closed sign to open. All three ponies that had visited today made comments about the sign saying closed. Samuel walked over to the door and opened it slowly. "Welcome to Rocket Carts! May I help you?" He asked cheerfully and adds, "We specialize in wagons, carts, and anything wood. You have it and I believe I can fix it." He smiled as he finished opening the door and stepped to the side to let the pony walk in. He seemed to be carrying an old work bench.
Grey walks into the shop, And removes his fez as he enters the building. "I believe you're Samuel, right?" not waiting for an answer He continued, "My name's Tick, I'm the local Clocksmith. Well, one of the two actually; In any case." He puts down the heavy workbench he dragged over here. "This thing's seen better days, And it's becoming a pain to use. The wood surface has splintered, And the vices are barely working at this point." He says looking at the pony, "Think you can fix it?"
Samuel watches as the pony drag the bench in and looked it over carefully. "Well yes, I am Samuel," he says looking under the bench. "I believe there is a chance to save this bench, but it might be a little easier to make a new one. I could make it the same size just newer wood and a better finish." He walked over to his wood pile searching for a few pieces that would make a newer bench with little work needed. "what do you think?" He asked looking towards the pony, "Either way I could get it done in a few hours."
OOC: who? IC: Starts putting the new pieces of wood next to the old, taking care to make each piece match closely to the length of the other. Samuel looks up at the pony,"Well to be honest I can do it for free." He looked up and down the wood and back at the pony. "Honestly, I didn't think it would be that close," he smiled as he began to balance the pieces. Samuel started nailing it into place, "So I can get this one put together quickly and then see what you think. Sanding and a good coat of lacquer will take a day to dry." Samuel continued while he waited for Tick's answer.
Tick smiles. "I can't accept anything free, my friend. How about this though, Come by my shop I'll get you a nice watch. On the house. But otherwise, Sounds like a deal."
Samuel smiled and flapped his wings just a bit, they were starting to cramp a little. "Well, well seems like a bit of a deal. I don't mind trading at all," He finished kicking the nails into place and stepped back from his work. The bench looked like a newer version of the one sitting right next to it, but maybe just a bit bigger. "Have a seat and see what you think," he offered the seat and stepped back to admire his work like he so often does.
Grey accepts the seat, Sitting down down are removing his glasses, Cleaning them on his weathered traveling cloak. Watching the pegasus work, He dares to interrupt, "Your shop's called Rocket carts, But you seem to make a lot of other stuff as well; Does your shop simply specialize in carts, Or is there some other reason to this?"
Samuel shakes his head an sighs a little, "well then the shop first open my great grandfather had only one thing on his mind. Building a cart for each of the princesses." He paused and thought a moment. Samuel had never thought to change the sign ever. "My grand father made both carts the princesses currently use and since then we have always been called Rocket's carts," Samuel smiled and thought about maybe one day changing it himself. He then turned to the pony, "So how do you like it?"
Grey gets up to closer inspect the workbench. "Hmm. I'll give it a..." "5 out of 5." He says holding out a hoof. OOC: No digits. (Fingers) :/ "Very nicely done." He finishes his thought.
Samuel smiled as he looked his work over, "I'll finish the sanding and paint in the morning. Then once the shops open tomorrow it should be all set for you." Samuel went over to his desk and looked over the paperwork from the other two carts that had left earlier that day. They had writing all over them, "Oh my..." He quickly hushed his voice as he read the one repeated item, Rainbow Dash. He had not realized that all day to day he was continuously writing her name while he daydreamed. "Er...well I hope that this new bench will suit you and if you'd like you could leave the other and I can re-sand it and you could use it for your costumers," Samuel offered politly. He then laughed to himself as a phrase came to mind, "You could be 'chic' as Miss Rarity says." Samuel was trying to hide his invoices as he spoke.
"Thanks then." Grey turned to leave, putting on his fez, "Be sure to drop by sometime. Tick's Clocks - Time Turning and Ticking!" He tips his fez (a very odd sight) as he leaves, And turns to go back to his shop.
Samuel watched the pony as he left, "Good day, sir." Samuel looked up at the clock on his wall, an old one that had been with the shop since he had been a philly, it was late and he had planned on meeting the two ponies from earlier by now. He packed up a few extra things he had laying around the shop. He had apples from Applejack, a few blankets and some hay. He loaded up his mini travel wagon, it was a sad looking wagon. It had basic brown finish and was missing some of its smaller wood trim but he never had time for his own projects so it served its purpose. Alright, time to go. He rushed off to meet the two ponies, hoping they were still there.
Clef had gone to sleep already but Rashall was still up and about, he was waiting for the other pony he had met that day and he knew he would be along soon.
Samuel finally got to the camp where the two ponies were. The fire was still going strong, the smell lofting in the breeze. Samuel smiled, fires always brought back such wonderful memories. Day when he was a philly and his father and grand father would take him out to the Everfree Forest and they would search for new trees to harvest new wood from. Samuel let out a light sigh, "How are you ponies?" He looked around to see Rashall still awake. "I brought a few items for you friend," he spoke softly to not wake Clef. "I'm so sorry I am late. Work walked in as I was getting ready to leave," Samuel said regretfully.
