Yes, actually you do, because I have no idea how you came to that conclusion. I recently saw Star Trek Into Darkness, and throughout the film Khan was still clearly portrayed as a horrible monster {In figurative terms}. Yes, he sincerely cares for his own crew {Not for anyone else though}, but he's still a horrible, mass murdering monster nonetheless.
I'm a hardcore original series and next generation trekkie. So I didn't like either one of the newest Star Trek films. I went with a friend, who begged me to go to it, they aren't familiar with the star trek series and I am, but they wanted to see it because of Cumberbatch (I do love Cumberbatch, but not as Khan). My friend knows I didn't like the first movie, and knows I can be quite a dick about it, in fact, they frequently have to listen to me say to people 'I cried at the end of the most recent Star Trek film, but only because JJ Abrams was pissing on my childhood'. Yeah, I'm an ass about it, but I feel rather strongly about stuff I love. I don't know why they badgered me to go to it, maybe they thought I'd change my mind. Course this friend also likes to torment me by saying 'I have been and always will be, your friend' because they know I WILL start crying (Spocks death- I'm tearing up thinking about it.) On the way home my friend was like 'wasn't that great' and all I did was give them this face They thought it was hilarious. Course then again, I don't get why they feel so strongly about Star Wars prequels, to each their own I guess.
Not to mention the possibility that we could have more movies to build his character regarding how he feels about killing people.
