I confuse easy. I'm just saying, time, posts, that stuff means nothing. Well if what I said was true, then Ramza can't do. The top 3 are the ones stopping that.
But the issue with that is that Berry hardly shows up. It's kinda hard to talk to him about this when he's holding up someplace. I'm sure Zeph and Mike can relay this stuff to him. I dunno.
Here's how that works actually: Berry = Radio Admin Zephyr = Forum Admin Mike = Technical Admin In other words, only Zephyr needs to give his blessing on forum related matters.
And now I've learned. So then only Zeph stands in the way of the problem user thing? Also this explains why a hardly see Berry.
Guys, correct me if I'm wrong, but it's only until recently that a simple staff system like that has been implimented. While this site had a head admin, information had to be passed amongst many members of staff before action could be taken. Now, there are 3 admins who are in charge of their respective areas, so the process will be simplified.
It only prevents him from being online at the same time. It's not that he can't post on the forums just because no one is online at the time. I just want to encourage him (and potentially other staff members with timezone issues) to post on the forums more often as an alternative for not being here when others are.
Remember though that he's normally at work and on his phone at the same time so it pretty much depends on how busy he is at work.
For those wondering why you haven't seen much of Berry lately, he was involved in a major move. His new place didn't have internet, and he's been having difficulty with getting new internet there. So he's been restricted to using his phone while at work, which has a data limit. So he's been sticking mostly to staff discussions on Skype until he either gets more data for his phone, or gets internet set up at his new place.
I'm still trying to find a good place to stand on the problematic users as the forum admin. Only recently has it been made a priority to sort out, and I don't want to either be too strict and risk a site-wide hatestorm again, or be too lenient and end up letting them all roam free. Though I guess those are two extremes. If I'm too strict, I can end up misinterpreting things and punishing a user for something they didn't really do. If I'm too lenient, I let harassment run rampant in bits and pieces. I'm just, well, a little new to this thing really. Foxy only recently stepped down y'know.
off the top of my head I think of 2 users that only wanted to cause problems and were left to roam around. I can think of a few others that don't require an instant ban, but should be watched. Then there is this weird middle ground where you know that they're doing it yet they don't fully step over the line. For a person like that, I think something like a 2 day ban would work and if they keep it up. Perma ban.
To people who realize they dun goofed and genuinly want to be better, a 2 day ban would be an extreme punishment. (though for those people i'd not prefer a ban at all). Silent trolls like the ones you referred to consider a 2 day ban to be nothing. Heck, i wouldn't be surprised if they got a weird sense of enjoyment out of it. That's the basic difference i'm trying to make people aware of.
I know my idea isn't perfect. But what I'm getting at is there are some that you know are only going to cause trouble and should be dealt with immediately.
Echo says something i agree with? Get in the doom bunker!! I agree with this. I was harrassed by Dan for weeks before the mods clued in and perma'd him.
he would be one of the ones I mentioned. Sure he did say some good things but what he did on the other hand he was constantly causing distress for a lot of members.
