"I knew him, I was going to recruit him into my squad. Read Leaf is a fighter at heart so it does not surprise me that he would fight, now if you wish we should get to my house," says Rashall.
Rashall leads the way to his house located a little further in the forest. He soon stops in front of a set of large pair of stone doors, after a few seconds they swing inwards revealing an open courtyard with a small pond at it's center. To the right is a larger pond made for swimming, farther to the right along the wall is a medium sized house. A black pegasus pony waves towards Rashall before going back inside. To the left further along the wall is another house that is the same size as the one on the right, but this one has a garden in front and is inhabited by an orange pegasus who also waves at Rashall before turning back to her plants. Along the back wall is a barracks like structure several wolves are standing outside talking a few others are drilling to hone their skills. Behind the central pond however is a large tree, this tree is hollowed out into a home but in such a way that it looks like the tree grew into the house. "Ah here we are home at last, Rex your more than welcome to stay here until we get this case solved," says Rashall.
"well thanks a bunch! lovely place you got here" Rex takes a moment to look around. "So about that book. What do you think that thing was?" Rex asks
"A shade, that's what I believe it was, but I'm sure your hungry," says Rashall gesturing towards the kitchen.
Rashall quickly fixes up some sandwiches for himself and Rex seeing as the filly was asleep on the couch in the living room and Torpas had gone to the barracks out back. Rashall then quickly flies to the second story of his house through the living room which has an extended ceiling that allows him to see from the library down into the living room. He then fetches a silver leafed book and returns to the kitchen trying not to wake Suntide. "Here it is the Damonicus Librium, or book of demons in other words," says Rashall putting the book down on the dinning table and then eating his sandwich.
"book if demons. Aren't we jumping to conclusions a bitquickly?" Rex asks while enjoying a very good sandwich byt the way
"There's not doubt about it, Torpas said he felt a psychic feed back of nothing but pure darkness. That coupled with the residue on the lamp post points towards one viable suspect, a shade, but the problem is is that shades normally don't act on their own. Normally one of greater power controls them, meaning this mystery just got harder," says Rashall flipping to the page in the book describing shades, "As you see shades are shadows that house a demon in it, but the catch is is that they hate the light as it will burn them," he adds.
"I see, and that why it chooses night time, and it took out the light in the lamp post?" Rex quickly says.
"Yes that's why the light dimmed for a few short moments, but for these things to be hunting innocents it chills me to the core," says Rashall with a shudder. (knew my 2,000th post would be in the RP are haha XD)
Rashall leads Rex up a flight of stairs to the second floor of his house. To the left are several doors leading into guest bedrooms, a door to the right leads into Rashall's extensive personal library. "Here you go Rex I think this will suit you well enough. My room is the second on the right if you need anything," says Rashall pointing towards his bedroom door. He then takes the filly Suntide into a room directly opposite of his room and then heads to be.
"This is more then adequate" Rex says thinking to himself 'Suntide was being vague, was she hiding something?' Rex has a hard time getting rest thinking to much of the strange case he got into.
Is still very tired 'already' he thinks to himself. shakes his head then says, "You will have to forgive me, I don't usually over sleep".
"You didn't it's about four in the morning and we best get started. A suspicious looking pony was sighted not far from the scene we saw yesterday, a friend of mine is keeping tabs on him. We should be able to catch him if we move now," says Rashall.
"You don't say, perhaps this will be a good lead" Rex say then suddenly shouts "Allons-y!"... "sorry I have been to say that" Rex says feeling a bit silly.
