Jumper gave Shadow a perplexed look saying "I don't smell anything" he was nervous he didn't need her having a episode right now.
shadow ran out the door with her gun ready for any thing. then poped her head inside and said" better get out here just incase we should also find the inn."
"Wait, why do we need to find the inn? we haven't even asked Saphire what happened here?!" shouted Jumper as Shadow made her way out. Saphire stayed silent she just wanted to find her parents.
Saphire finished off another bottle saying "i'm not really sure at first everything was fine, then some ponies went missing in the mine no-pony could find them. Then some ponies said they heard screams from the mine one night, so more miners including my parents went into the mine. Then no-pony came back, and when the ponies from Canterlot went to search they didn't come back either! All the ponies where gone except for me since i'm the only filly here... " Saphire looked like she was about to cry. Jumper smiled saying "don't worry we'll find everypony and bring them back we promise, right Shadow?" Jumper looked back at Shadow hoping she would play along.
"I don't know" she said then hugged saphire "but i still have a feeling that we are being watched and I'm hungry what time is it did the doctor give you my medication for the night time I don't want to hurt anypony"
Jumper handed Shadow her odd pills saying "I'll take first watch" Jumper looked at the un-easy pegusus saying "don't worry, we'll find your parents." She smilled and nodded she dosed off later, she still looked pretty weak.
Jumper awoke as the sun's rays filled the empty store, jumper scrathed his head looking around the store thinking ok, still dead silent and nopony is sight, what happened in this town? jumper looked over at saphire who was still asleep and this filly is our only lead......whatever took everypony else never came into town to take her....maybe whatever took them are stuck in the cave....or worse...they got what they came for... he shook his head there were too many questions and not enough answers, the hated these kinda jobs they were never simple, he then looked over at shadow hoping she would wake up soon.
shadow was laying down sleeping when she heard jumper get up and look around, she decided to wake up saphire and ask her a question. "wake up!" shadow yelled.
"good morning saphire, how are you this morning, I would like to ask you a question if thats ok with you?" shadow asked as she got up to grab her gun.
As Jumper sifted through the shelves to find something to make breakfast with, saphire looked at shadow with wide eyes "what do you want to ask?"
"are we friends?" shadow asked. she looked at the gun "hey jumper do you know how to clean a shotgun " she asked jumper
Saphire nodded at shadow and smiled "sure, we can be friends" Jumper then said "sorry no, i don't usually use guns" Jumper began to throw together some omlets over a small camp fire he had set up.
"well then, im just being lazy ill do it" she told jumper. "thank you saphire." she told saphire. shadow began to strip her gun and clean it.
Jumper continued to make breakfast using what he had from the near empty store "glad i still remember how to cook"
"hey jumper im gana go out side and do some shooting" shadow said. " jumper can saphire come with me?" she asked
Jumper contiued to cook "go ahead, just shout if you find somepony" Saphire got up and walked outside with shadow happy to have a new friend.
as shadow walked outside she asked saphire " hey have you ever shot a gun?" as she pulled out her gun.
