"As long as he needs to," she said flatly. "No one said anything about getting him back. That would be too easy."
"Well," she said thoughtfully, "then everything he ever worked for would become obsolete. Maybe I'd reverse this mind thing afterward, let him see what he did."
She tilted her head. “But you already said that there was no way to win. No way for me to get out. Sooner or later, I’m going to die from Abel. Why wouldn’t I just end it now?”
“You’re not good at negotiating, Eve,” she said flatly. “What makes you think I have any desire to keep you entertained?”
She laughed. "It was worth a shot. Such a disappointing way for this legacy to go down. Well.. for you, anyways."
Eve watched her run, waiting about a minute before gesturing with her head, and Abel took off after her.
