She looked up at the whiteboard with their handwriting on it and her shoulders slumped as tears flew unexpectedly to her eyes. She hugged herself quietly, feeling her breath leave her chest.
She jumped as he entered the planning room, looking startled before seeing it was him. She hastily tried to hide her face, turning away from him. “Yeah. It’s just a place.”
The hope that was in her eyes quickly drained away and she shook her head. “That’s... that’s okay. Go ahead and fix your leg.”
She looked up with a frown. “Here... sleep under here...” She moved over to the corner of the nook where it was partially covered by a roof. “This is where I used to sleep.”
