“Sorry, babe,” she said keenly. “I don’t make the rules.” She paused before quieting a little. “I’m not pressuring you, by the way. You can take your time.”
"I'm working on it," he said, grunting slightly as she would hear squeaky pipes in the back. "This should be harder than the power."
She opened the door, stepping in. She was wearing a deep blue shirt and dark pants, and her hair was wet from her shower. "Abes...?"
"I'm in here," he said, calling from another room as he pulled out from a small door in one of the walls, shutting the latch. There was some grime on his face and he went to test the water.
He turned on the sink, brightening as the water poured out. "It's good," he said. "That's the water done. Next is power. This place will be like home with a little cleaning and redecorating." The house was a little dirty, scraps and rubble here and there, with a layer of dust and dirt.
She looked around before kissing his cheek. “You’re amazing,” she said appreciatively before going over to gather up some of the rubble.
She gathered up some of the bigger items in her arms, going to dispose of them. “I should probably go to the store to get some cleaning supplies...”
