"I won't do it again," she promised. "I grabbed the last few things out of our apartment. We shouldn't have to go back, now. That reminds me..." She reached into one of the bag and pulled out his pills, offering them to him.
She nodded, turning away from him to pull in the mattress, muttering a little bit as she tried to lift it.
"Yes, of course," she replied, pointing to the bags she set down. "You don't need to help, I got it. I know you don't approve."
He would know her well enough to be able to see the way she set her jaw that she was about to put up a fight, her brow furrowed.
She paused before her face softened and she tilted her head as she considered him. "Abel, not to sound like a weak-ass *squee!*, but..." She laughed a little. "I love you so much."
Her hands came up to rest on his chest and she looked up at him. "Okay. Help me get the mattress in the door."
