"I'm aware," she said, looking up at him. "Tell you what, you've been cooped up in here for a while. Why don't you go grab some stuff from the Nook and stretch your legs? I can start cleaning."
She had gotten a surprising amount done. The cobwebs in the ceiling corners were gone and the floors were swept clean and damp from a fresh mopping. She was putting sheets on the mattress, struggling to get all the corners to stay on at once.
She jumped a little when she saw he had entered. She had a white cloth on her head, tied like a bandana to keep her hair down, and her entire face brightened from one of small irritation to surprised joy. "Hi! You're back.
He laughed a little, looking down at her. "Yeah. I set the stuff in the living room.. You look cute."
She squinted at him, coming over and draping her arms over his shoulder, her hand rubbing the back of his head gently. "Hmph. How was the trip?"
"I'm a really fast worker," she said, tilting her head playfully. "Like really fast. You should have seen what I pulled up from the drains in the bathroom."
She shook her head, squinting before fully embracing him, her head nestled under his chin. "There's no need," she said easily. "You got the power working and the water. It was the least I could do."
She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath as she enjoyed his closeness. "You smell nice," she commented quietly, her hand rubbing the back of his neck soothingly.
