She hesitated, coming behind him nervously and wrapping her arms around his waist, burying her head in his back. "Don't be feeling badly, then. I'm okay because of you."
“I’m frightened that I saw what you could do, Abel, and I’m frightened because I know that you were brainwashed into trying to kill me at one point. It’s a combined thing, but none of it has to do with the boy I love.”
“You were frightened and tired and angry and I was being threatened,” she replied quietly. “Plus, you had just been shocked with a cattle prod.”
Her eyes didn’t close like they normally did, but her fingers curled in his shirt gently. “I couldn’t stand it,” she said quietly. “I wouldn’t be able to stand it if I lost you again.”
He watched her lovingly, but still seemed worried. "O.. I will try my hardest to stay myself 100% of the time."
