"Maybe," she mused, sounding unsure. "I used to do that... I don't know. I think I might get back into martial arts, or at least practice some fighting. I miss that."
He raised an eyebrow at her. "I nearly beat two guys to death. I'd like to be prepared if something like that happens again."
Her face softened and she reached out, brushing her thumb over his bottom lip. “...I really love you,” she told him quietly. “I know we were in the middle of something, but you should know that I really love you.”
He watched her with furrowed brows. "I don't want to be in the middle of something. I want things to be normal."
“No, I meant, like... a conversation,” she said, gesturing vaguely. “I want us to be normal too. Can we be normal?”
He laughed slightly. "Depends on how you mean it. Probably not completely normal until Eve is stopped.
“But... our normal,” she said quietly. “You’re... you’re my favorite person to be around, Abel. I miss you.”
She looked up at him, her expression soft before she reached up and kissed him gently, her whole body relaxing into his touch.
She pulled away after a few moments, her forehead against his and her lips still brushing his. Her eyes flickered to his and she paused before smiling, a little breathless.
She turned her face and kissed his palm gently, her eyes fluttering closed. “Me too,” she said, looking up at him. “More than anything.”
He gave her a small smile before frowning slightly again. "I'm sorry I act like you're not capable.."
