"What did you mean, then?" she asked, reaching over and tucking his hair behind his ear affectionately.
She rolled her eyes before resting her head back in its spot, closing her eyes. "Fine, then. Keep listening to your conversation."
"I could talk to him," she suggested, raising an eyebrow. "Maybe. I don't know. That might be stupid."
She grinned up at him for a moment before looking over at James. "I will, but first, I need to whisper to me for a couple minutes."
"Because I have learned something about your kind," she murmured in response, barely moving her lips, but maintaining her playful nature. "You like the competition." She kept her eyes on James.
