She considered him. "You're brilliant, first of all," she told him softly. "You're tactical and clever, and..." Her pointer finger traced over his lips gently. "You're thoughtful. A lot of logical people aren't very thoughtful, but you are. Sometimes I look over at you and I watch the gears turn in your head and I realize that you are taking a situation and turning it on all its sides to think about it. You're meticulous." She paused, her other hand lacing her fingers with his. "And besides that, you're so kind, Abel. I don't think you understand what a good person you are. You're just... you're so genuine and gentle, but you're not sucky or anything like that. You're just... good, you know?"
She laughed, pointing at him. "See? Right there. Your response to being embarrassed is to compliment me. Who does that?"
She blinked, but shook her head as if to clear it. "We'll come back to that. The point is, Abel, is that you can do whatever you want to. Really. I just... I thought this was your goal. I thought this was everything for you."
"It used to be, but.. I feel like once I made it public it gave me a chance to let the people do the rest.."
She considered this before sighing, reaching up and cupping the back of his neck gently. "We can finish this, I think. You and I."
She looked up at him for a moment before slipping her arms around his neck and burying her face in his shoulder. "We just need to keep you safe," she said in a small voice. "Until we figure out what to do. You have all the power here."
Her eyes were closed, but she smiled a little. "I'm important to you, Abel, I'll grant you that. But in the eyes of making change, you're the leader here. It's more important that you stay upright."
She looked up at him again, her brows furrowed. She looked touched, but then she laughed, planting a soft kiss on his neck as she returned to her position. "Well, I'm not exactly upright. I can't walk, so I guess we're *squee!*ed."
