ace sat there "ya....espesaly sence the others will wonder what happend to dipstick over there" he said nodding his head towards the dead pony he then stood up and helped her up
Max got to her hooves and walked out of the room, avoiding the dead pony. "So which way then? I seem to remember we were on the roof..."
"Oh, okay," Max responded, following him downstairs. "This doesn't mean we have to run through the streets again, does it?" She asked, nervously, as she noticed they were headed for ground level.
Max nodded. She didn't like the idea of killing all these ponies, but she knew they didn't really have a choice. "Anything I can do to help?" She asked.
Max nodded and levitated her hunting rifle, having to reload it before joining Ace at the window. She couldn't see anypony...
ace saw somepony and fired after he shot and got him he ducked behind cover waiting to be fired at . . . "are they all dead?" he asked out loud as he looked out again
"I'm not sure; maybe they ran off? Or ran out of bullets?" Max suggested, checking her own ammo pouch and finding only a single lonely .308 round rolling about. What ever the reason, after about twenty minutes of exchanging gunfire, the other ponies had stopped firing, and Max could no longer see movement in the other buildings. It seemed like the coast was clear.
Ace tested it first and walked to the street . . . Nothing "Ok let's go" he said moving towards the hospital
Max followed Ace out into the street, and gingerly stepped over the bones outside the hospital. Once inside, a securitron walked over and scanned her, picking up her mother's ID. Medical ID accepted. Welcome Dr. Hadley.
Ace stopped her before she continued "Ok.....your mother is the one surrounded by empty med x around" he pointed to a hall way "That corner....I would assume you want to pay your respects so I'll go on ahead and see if I can find something.....ok?"
Ace was rummaging thru a cabinet in a room down the hall "And of corse it's all bad it needed to be replaced with new supplies 20 years ago" he said in a mock nurse expression as he closed the door and went back into the hall
Max smiled faintly. "I am now, yeah." She frowned. "Nothing we can use? I could understand the health potions and some other delicate items being unusable after all this time, but most of the drugs should still be ok." This wasn't good; she was relying on the hospital's supplies for her plan...
"Well I've only checked that room" He told her before walking to her side He wanted to tell her how he felt but after seeing her mother he felt it not the time
Max looked around the corridor as they walked together. There was still power coming from somewhere; there had to be for the security system and emergency lighting to be running... "I have a plan." She said, looking at Ace. "This building's nearly intact, it's defence system works in our favour, and the supplies and equipment could help a lot of ponies. I want to get this hospital up and running again; make it a save haven for any ponies that need it. Will you help me?"
