"i was a drafter before the war......pretty much i designed buildings" he told her "so do you want me to lead in the basement or do you want me to follow you?" he asked as they passed the second floor
"A drafter? Interesting... No offence, but I didn't take you for a creative type. That's great news though!" She grinned. "I don't think we'll run into any trouble in the basement; this place was sealed tight before we got in. I think we should just go in together." She decided, after thinking for a moment.
"Such a gentlecolt~" Max said, chuckling as he held the door. The basement was pitch black, due to the lack of power or windows, so Max paused a moment to remember an illumination spell. After a few seconds, she cast a ball of light, which floated up and stuck to the ceiling, allowing them to see what the basement held. The room they had entered was a large corridor, with doors on either side. The doors were marked: Generators Morgue Incinerator Storage Mainframe
"hmmmm.... lets go to the mainframe that way we can find out if it can handle full power going to it...then go to the generators" he sudjested
"Well, it looks okay..." Max said, not having much clue what she was looking at. She could use computers; she had to be able to as a Stable doctor, but she didn't really know how they worked. She could remove a pony's appendix in twenty minutes, but it once took her three hours to figure out her computer was unplugged.
"bad news is we need new wires" he said to her "good news thats all thats wrong and the construction site should have them" he then walked up to her "would you go get them wail i see what i can do with the generator? the wires we need are blue red white and black....yellow too but i can substitute those with white wire and they should be near the staircase" he said remembering where he saw the ones they needed
"Blue, red, white and black... Okay, got it." Max said, memorising the colours before nodding and leaving the basement.
ace smiled but stopped her before she got to far when she looked back he kissed her on her lips and ran off to the generator
"I- Wha... Huh?" Max stammered, left standing alone as Ace ran off. What was that!? She asked herself, turning slowly and walking out of the basement. That was... odd, to say the least; it was so unlike the way she'd seen him acting before, and the way he just ran off... She shrugged and wrote it off as some symptom of his memory loss. Unless it happened again, she wouldn't give it too much thought. She made it to the building site without any trouble; it seemed whoever the ponies where that attacked them, they had not returned yet. After a little searching, Max found the wire. Red, blue, black and white, She recited to herself, bundling the reels into her saddlebags and heading back. "Ace? I got the wire!" She called out as she returned to the basement, ready to watch for any more strange behaviour from her friend.
"thanks.....um...sorry about earlier...i shouldnt have run off after kissing you" he said rubbing the back of his head as he magicly grabbed the heavy wire from her
ace frowned "ya...why wouldnt i remember that...it took a lot to do that witch is why i ran away....i didnt want to see your reaction in case it was a bad on......was it bad?" he asked avoiding eye contact as he headed towards the mainframe
This was more like the Ace she knew... "I was... surprised," She said, slowly. "I didn't know you felt that way about me, Ace." Max shifted about a bit as they reached the mainframe. Was it just her, or was it getting awkward in here?
