Kleft looked grimly upon the scene. The destruction was catastrophic, and they hadn't even had time to do anything yet! When he was certain Black Night had taken her leave, he began to reverse the spell, but stopped when a brick fell in. 'Buck!' He thought. 'That whole building must have come down on me! Looks like I have to teleport...this could get ugly...' Kleft concentrated on diffusing the spell and teleporting at the same time. When he was sure he had it correct, Kleft took a deep breath and began the sequence. The light came at him so fast he was blinded, but he didn't notice. Kleft was now focused on the fact that he was now hurtling towards the ground at a fatal velocity. "AAUUUGGGHHHH!" He screamed. He couldn't create a shield, that would most certainly break his spine. He had no idea how to fly. He was moving too fast the even accurately teleport. He closed his eyes and waited for the worst.
Snow Light looked at Silver Sheild, "No, I am Snow Light." Snow's head suddenly snapped to the sound of screaming. She saw a pony falling from the sky, she spread her wings and does off, managing to catch Kleft just feet from the ground. Snow Light gently set him down, and then in a soft glow, sperated back into Snow Mark and Dark Light.
"Ugh.." Motorin' moaned as he approached the other survivors. "What just happened? Did I hit my head, or did the entire town get rebuilt and destroyed again?"
Snow and Dark looked at the town's ruins, "We need to get out of here." Dark said. Seeing the looks on the others faces, Snow pointed out something on the horizon, "Black Night is coming back, so we might want to get out of here." Snow said. They sounded almost robotic in their depression, but they turned and ran straight at the Everfree.
Lightning flew with Snow and Dark towards the everfree forest, "So, we're going to avoid danger by going into a dangerous place," She said, "I'm totally ok with this."
"Well which would you prefer, possibility of death or certainity of death, pick your choice." Dark said as they ran on, and Black Night's ominous black fog got ever closer.
Silver struggled to keep up with the pegasi and unicorns headed towards the Everfree Forest. He ended up just using multiple teleport spells in rapid succession, because there was no way he was going to make it in time by running. This was one of the times he wished he was stronger physically; magic was great in a fight, but not against someone who could kill you in ten seconds no matter what kind of defenses you had. He arrived at the edge of the forest, still panting, and then continued following (or attempting to follow) the rest of his group.
Kleft saw the other ponies walking towards the forest. 'So we're giving up already then?' He thought. With the choice of live or be tortured to death, he followed them out of ponyville.
Grey Mane got out of the rubble to see everypony was leaving towards the forest. 'I best follow' She thought. Gallopping as fast as she could she wondered what happened to her knife Rage Fang. It was gone. She began to scream in anger. "GRRRRAAAAHH!!!" She exlaimed, not caring about her presence becomeing alerted. "I... Will.... Find... you...." She sprinted after the group, hoping not to be cought off guard as having her own tactics used on her was punishing and rage inducing enough. Now it was personal.
Snow and Dark finally stopped running once they reached a clearing a good distance into the Everfree. Snow looked around, "I know this place. A long time ago, when I first came to Ponyville, before Dark even existed, I remember finding this place, with another group." Snow laid down on the grass, "It's been so very long since then, so much has changed, and now here I am, with a brand new group. The others either died or escaped on the ships, me and Dark are the only ones left." Snow continued to rub the ground with her hoove as if as she was trying to put herself back in those days, before the blasts, before the Gates, before any of that, in a more innocent time. "I was so young and alive and naive back then..." Snow said blankly.
Silver dragged himself into the clearing, panting. "Why...why are...-gasp- why're we sti...-cough gasp- still -wheeze- running?!" He collapsed and proceeded to do some serious breath-catching.
grey Mane kept running till she came to a clearing where a Pony collapsed, panting. "You OK?" She gasped. She never said anything like that before. "Here. Take this." She held out a canteen of water to the Pony on the ground. Even though she had never been nice before she knew she would'nt need it. As a collector she has various trinckets and amulets to aid her in tasks. Running is one.
Lightning landed near Snow and began to take inventory of what was still intact in her saddle bags. "Alright," She began, "Food... Gone. Water... Very little left. Gun... Check. Bullets... Check." She pulled out her revolver and began to examine it for any damage.
Silver looked up at Grey Mane in shock. Or maybe it just looked like that, because he was gasping like a fish out of water. In any case, he took the water canteen and, after a hasty inspection of its contents, downed the water, pausing to breathe hard between swallows.
Dark decided to follow Lightning's lead and checked her supplies, all just about the same. That was one strange thing about the combination thing, when they seperated, they looked exactly as they had when they joined together. Dark took out her rifle and to everypony's surprise, began walking BACK to Ponyville. "I have some unfinished business with Black Night. I don't want anypony to follow, got it? If I found that you followed me, expect to lose the use of one of your legs." and Dark slipped into the jungle. Snow sighed, "Trust me, when Dark acts like that, you do NOT disobey her. But in the meantime, let's go ahead and get comfortable. We're probably going to be here awhile." Snow said, summoning a picnic blanket, and laying it out on the ground.
"Whatever floats her boat..." Lightning said, pulling out a sleeping mat, "I should make a campfire." She began to move rocks to make a fire pit.
Dark came out of the Everfree to see all of Ponyville just gone, not even rubble was left. She walked out to what was Ponyville in shock despite every cell in her body yelling that it was a trap. "Beautiful, isn't it." Black Night said right next to Dark, but Dark was too shocked to react. "Oh, cat got your tongue Dark? Usual you would be spitting insults at me and attacking me by now. Or was that the old Dark, the soldier of all occasions, a one-pony army. But alas, I guess that your not so much a soldier now that your entire squad is dead." Dark's eyes were filled with with anger and punched at Black Night, but hit nothing but air. "Oh, it seems that even your reaction timing has slowed." Black Night said hovering in air "How sad, and I was looking forward to a good fight to, not like the push over of besting your friends, barely even worth my time." Dark flew up to meet Black night and attacked but Black disappeared again just a split second right before Dark slammed into her. "Come on and fight!" Dark yelled. Laughter filled the air as a black fog filled the area basically rendering Dark blind. Okay Dark, remember what you did last time, there is always a disturbance right before she attacks, Dark thought. Dark looked blindly around, but this time there was no warning when she took a solid uppercut to the jaw. Soon she was being wholloped by a multitude of attacks from any and all angles. In just a few minutes, Dark lay on the ground, beaten and bruised, when she remembered something Snow told her a long time ago, back when Dark first became a pegasus, remember Dark, there's no need to be so sad about losing your magic, remember we are two parts of a whole, understanding crept into Dark's eyes as she finally understood what Snow had meant. Dark searched with her mind, and found Snow's powerful magic aura and tapped into it. When Dark got up again, she was completely healed and her eyes were a dark shade of purple. She looked around and saw the aura of Black Night and smirked, "I see you!" she said and plowed into Black at full speed, knocking them straight out of the fog. "NO! IT'S NOT POSSIBLE!" She yelled, being pushed along by Dark. "It is Black, and as the Ancient of Darkness I command you!" Dark yelled. Black Night looked at herself and saw that her very essence was being torn away into Dark, "NOOOOO!!!!" and she was absorb by Dark, who then passed out from the effort. She fell straight down into the Everfree, right into the clearing.
Helping Lightning make a suitable place to build a fire, Silver couldn't help but worry about Dark. That alicorn had seemed like more than a match for anypony he knew, including Dark, not that he thought she was weak or anything. He wondered how she planned to settle her "unfinished business" without getting completely annihilated. After setting up a firepit, he set up his carry-around shelter he'd brought with him, and pulled his water purifier out of his saddlebag as well. Not that there was any water around, but it felt good to relieve himself of his burdens. He was sick of carrying his stuff around, even though his acquaintances were carrying far more for the most part. And as soon as he had finished, a falling pegasus landed directly on his shelter, obliterating it. Silver sighed, but as soon as he saw who it was, he shouted "Dark!" and ran over, stumbling a bit in his haste. He hoped she was okay...
