Kleft floated in easily on his purple shield and floated to the ground. "Sorry I took so long to arrive." He said. "Funny the sort of things you can still find in this forest." He levitated a purple stick and some roped. "I found these interesting. The rope can be expended, but this stick has an odd magical aura about it. I wish to keep it." He wandered to a nearby opening and began pitching his tent.
Lightning finished her fire pit and started a fire. Lightning sat down and pulled a carrot out of her saddle bag and put it on a stick. She put it over the fire and waited for it to cook.
Dark slowly got up from the ruined tent, "Well, I took care of her, for now at least." she limped over the fire and layer down beside it, "Ahh, I remember when Snow, Firebreeze, Haze, all of them, and me would come out here for picnics, remember Snow?" Snow nodded and looked up to the sky, as if wishing she could be on those ships with the others.
Kleft looked towards Dark with a frown. "You're injured! Shouldn't you get medical attention or something? If you manage to incapacitate yourself, we only have Snow to defend us if that abomination decides to reappear. Two are much better than one." He got up and walked into his tent. "If anypony needs me, I'll be in my tent. Be warned though, I get cranky when I'm interrupted during meditation." With that final remark, he dissapeared, and a faint purple glow could be seen from inside his tent.
"Sounds nice..." Lightning said to Dark. Lightning had very few memories left of friends, she knew she had to push them out of her mind to stay sane. She remembered names and faces, that was about it. Ligjtning took a bite out of her cooked carrot, with an uncomfortable look on her face.
Dark shook her head, "We won't need to worry about Black Night, I defeated her. She won't be bothering us for awhile." Dark looked back at her wing, and realized just how bad her injuries were for the first time, her wing was almost completly bent in half at rest. "Uh, does anypony have a split?"
"I could make one out of a stick and some bandages." Lightning said, reaching for both a stick and the bandages in her saddle bag.
"Thanks." Dark said, she found a strong looking stick on the ground, put it in her mouth and bent her wing back into place, causing massive pain to fill her body. She bit down so hard on the stick that it almost snapped in her mouth, "Now I just need a split." Dark grunted
Lightning quickly made the split on Dark's wing, "Alrighy," She said as she finished her work, "that should do the trick! I hope it doesn't hurt too much..."
Dark nodded, "It should be fine. I've had worse ones done during my service." Dark walked over to a tree and bucked it, literally snapping the tree in half in the process, "Well it seems that my legs aright." she walked back over to the fire and laid back down, getting comfortably as the sun slid towards the horizon.
Lightning layed down on her sleeping mat and went to sleep, constantly mumbling things like 'damn war...', 'come back!', and 'make it stop...' in her sleep. In her dreams, she was reliving the day of the bombing of Cantetlot, being left behind, and the great Ponyville massacre. The screams of the victims constantly haunted her dreams.
Snow stated into the pond's surface, it was the very same pond Dark used to find her when Tremalion captured her in the first attack, before even the Infinity Gates came around. Dark sat next to Snow, "I know it's hard Snow. they were my friends to, I fought for them to have the chance to live." Snow sighed," It's not that Dark, it's just all that's happened in my life. It's just hard sometimes ya know, going through all I've been through, from killing my own family in the first of my incidents, to saving everypony in Ponyville and Canterlot from abduction by an evil mist, to fighting against Tremalion and Heculius, to the Infinty Gates, to this. So much has happened in my life Dark, I just dont know how my mind just doesn't explode from all this." Dark put an arm on Snow's shoulders to comfort her, "Hey, the past is the past Snow, stop driving yourself crazy with worry about it. If anything you need to worry about making sure you don't accidentally blow us up!" Snow laughed, "Watch out, don't get me angry!" she said, putting on a small red glow on her horn for effect. "Oh come on Snowy, now that's just not fair." Dark complained. Snow laughed, "Thanks Dark, you always find a way to make me laugh, well good night." and Snow walked to her tent. Dark's smile slowly faded as Snow left her sight. Dark took a gulp and looked in the pond. Sitting there in the reflection was Black Night. "What am I." Dark said to herself.
(poor story telling skills, activate!) Lightning awoke as the sunlight leaked into the forest through the trees. The camp fire was out and the others were still asleep. She didn't want to wake the others, do she walked to a pond and began skipping stones.
Snow crawled out of her tent, rubbing her eyes in tiredness. She saw Lightning skipping stones, she looked around and her eyes suddenly flew open, "Where is Dark?!" She exclaimed.
Lightning heard Snow and turned around, wondering the same thing, "I could've sworn she was right next to the fire pit, sleeping..."
(sneakily return to the story powers, activate) Motorin' flew down from the cloud he had been sleeping on and landed next to the now dead campfire. He was feeling lazy, and decided to eat from a box of crackers in his saddlebags instead of starting the fire again and cooking something. Bored, he flipped open his switchblade and began to polish it.
(return to the story-which-I-left-overnight-and-now-is-two-pages-longer powers, activate! ...nope, that wasn't funny.) Silver woke up to...a frog on his face. It took a few seconds for his sleepy mind to actually realize that frogs shouldn't be on your face, and when it did he sat up, flinging the frog forward, and began spitting and wiping his mouth. Stupid tent...he had been unable to fix it the previous night, and apparently this resulted in frogs spending the night on his forehead. He got up, swaying a little, and began to pack up his demolished shelter as best he could. He could probably fix it some other time...if there was an "other time". After that was finished, he decided to make sure everypony else in their little group was okay. He saw that Lightning and Snow were up and conversing, but he couldn't make out what they were saying. There was the pony that had joined them the previous night, polishing his knife next to the firepit. Grey Mane seemed to still be asleep, though even while she slumbered, he had the feeling that none of her enemies were going to easily surprise her. Kleft also seemed to be sleeping. He counted off a mental checklist... wait, where was Dark?
Snow looked worriedly about, "Dark! Dark come on out!" she called, no response. Snow concentrated and tryed to follow the link between her and Dark. Nothing, she just disappeared. "We have a problem on our hooves, not even the Link could find Dark for me. She isn't dead, I would be able to detect that, she just dissapeared. Dark awoke to the sound of silence, she looked around to see herself in a giant ring of knocked down trees. She flew up, noticing smoke on the horizon. Wait, how am I flying with a broken wing, she thought. But when she looked back, her wing was just fine, how is that possible. She heard yelling in her mind, 'Dark! Dark where are you!' "Oh no." and Dark sped off in direction that her guts said went to Snow and the group.
