Free-verse poem inspired by the song by "Aesop Rock". I put hidden meaning into some of the lines, so I would love to hear interpretations! Alright, here goes... Defenestrated jesters lined up in the street are what the ravens start to crave appreciatin' the meat "Nevermore", and with one word the king left his seat but the queen didn't stop him, an implied impeach Now the sideline preachers are peaceful as Ghandi I wish to be more like them, their wise eyes haunt me sick of all the hate but I am no exception all born as equals living as reflections and both wings need to work for a body to fly, but blind wolves are never full until the weight is pushed to their side They bite the work-horse-s until their legs bleed They right the war-horse-s that they don't feed Creatures who can see are now de-sensitized Put a gun to my head but I won't comply No I won't comply Because I am no longer afraid to die And I will remember your name and face on the day you were judged by the fun house cast. And I will rejoice in your fall from grace, cane to the sky like "None Shall Pass". Non-cannibals, thought to be uncivilized animals Young wolves domesticated to carry their parent's cannon-balls Those on top have us chained to the feet of a sun God Shh! Open season, time to clamor in the mud and everybody claims that the crime rates are rising the jesters blamed as though their souls are for signing and all the wise owls never have a face-to-show they never shed the feathered face that is vir-tu-al Suicide rates are what is really on the rise Sometimes I feel like we are already friend Some are tied up in ties but I won't comply When you're bored with your life is when you lose your pride To speak but not act is a spiritual crime So I will leave here, I have had my time But I will remember your name and face on the day you were judged by the fun house cast and I will rejoice in your fall from grace, cane to the sky like "None shall pass" What do all of you think???
