Starnsy felt the entire train jolt and lurch, she held tightly to the railing until it died down. She quickly drew her M1911 and, instead of going through the caboose, opted to climb on top and sneak over the tops. 'Gotta get to my launcher... Damn Anti-Harmonists, can't leave well enough alone...' She crept along the top of the traincars, hopping in between them. "I just hope they don't get to the supply car..." She hopped onto the sleeper car and, estimating where her briefcase was, jumped and grabbed the upper railing, swinging down and smashing through the window on the traincar.
The squad member in that car, a yellow pegasus with somewhat scrawny frame, heard the window crash. He reached over to the room where he heard it happen, stopping in front of the and leaning up against the wall. "Contact, sleeper car!" he yelled, his team members echoing his words down the line. Shermane heard the words and sprinted towards it, barging past everypony in his way. Meanwhile, the pegasus kicked down the door and hustled in, pointing his SMG at the pony who jumped in. "Don't move!"
Floating in the clouds the Cloudcoat witnessed an attempted mugging turn hoof and the would be bandit stabbed. Feeling nothing for the creature who caused it he followed the mare from a distance. He didn't want to be close still pushing his sleep away Cloudcoat needed to find out more about the current events, slowing drifting closer to the mare with out thinking.
Starnsy stood still, her hooves raised as she feigned surrender. "Alright buddy, you don't wanna hurt me... And I don't wanna hurt you either, so maybe we can all sit back... Relax, and you can STOP POINTING THAT GUN AT ME!" With that yell, she quickly upturned one of the bedframes that the sleeper car held and took cover behind it, pulling a grenade out from her vest and pulling the pin. She counted to three and tossed it, it bouncing once before rolling to a stop at the yellow pegasus's hooves. She braced for the explosion while simultaneously looking for her metal briefcase.
Pegasi's eyes looked confused at the grenade before it exploded, sending him into the send of the car and sliding to the floor with dull thump. It was the last look his eyes ever gave. Shermane was in the car next door when he heard the explosion go off. He didn't pause at it but he his speed quickened. He was quickly at the sight of the scene, with the pegasus against the wall dead and half the room blown out. He dove past the blown out door way, firing a few shots into the room and took cover on the other side. "YOU'RE DEAD NOW, YOU DAMNED PSYCHO!"
Starnsy was just about to make a dash for the briefcase she spied, but quickly ducked back behind the bedframe as a stallion came diving and firing at her. "Oh come now, you can't seriously expect me to die here!" She took a couple blind shots in the stallion's general direction, checking to see what else she had in her vest of goodies. "We're just a harmless civilian train, buddy! We didn't mean any harm! At least, the civilians didn't! I mean some serious harm my friend!" She grabbed a smoke grenade from a large pouch and tossed it in the middle of the traincar, it quickly began to fill up the boxcar with thick smoke. "Did you come prepared?"
As the car began to fill up with smoke, Shermane tried to stay in as long as he could, firing more shots till his rifle made a loud PING. He knew he was out of ammo but couldn't see to reload. He stumbled out of the car coughing and into the next, rubbing his eyes. "Surround-" He tried to talk but the smoke was still in here throat. "...THAT CAR!" Most of the squad mates hurried to defensive positions around it, albeit a few stayed back near one of the cargo cars.
Starnsy's ears perked and she listened to his hoofsteps growing fainter. She quickly dashed for her metal briefcase, opening it and loading it. She stood to begin busting out the windows to let the smoke clear, but alas, she was too late and did not have a gas mask on her. "Well... *cough* Son of a..." With those words she trailed off and blacked out, collapsing to the floor of the traincar. Perhaps it was for the best, as she had no real chance of taking on an entire force by herself. In the back of her mind, before the darkness overcame her, she hoped that they didn't find the car loaded with the explosives.
The squad held their positions as the smoke poured out of the car in the holes it could. Shermane waited in the car next door before a squad memeber walked up. "Sir, you might want to see this." He continued to stare at the door, waiting for his moment to burst and get revenge. The pony persisted. "Sir, it's important. It's the cargo." "Fine." Shermane sighed, turning away and heading towards the cargo cars. "Bust the windows to let the smoke out but watch out for that mare. If any of the stallions have gas masks on them, send them in. Apprehend the target." he said, his voice changing back to a leader sounding tone. When he reached the cargo car the rest of the squad was around, they hurried opened the door to show larges crates of explosives. "Damn fine hunting..." he muttered. Only one member had a mask with him. He slipped into the inside with his mask as the rest broke the windows. He hurried into the room and found the mare slumped face first against the wall with the window. As the window broke he hopped through with the mare over his shoulder before laying her out on the tracks and checking for a pulse. He heard a faint and stripped her of her vest before trying her hooves together with rope place her atop of him. They had a lot of work ahead.
Cari hummed under her breath to her cat, and suddenly halted. Did she hear a flapping of wings? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cari whipped around, and a dagger flew from her grasp, thudding into the tree right next to Cloudcoat's ear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
*Pulling the dagger from the tree* "Well then I guess I don't need to say I am here then." He says stepping into the light a few feet in front of the mare.
With a slight chuckle "Relax I'm not planning anything I just want to talk a little, here." *tosses the dagger at her hooves*
Starnsy awoke an indeterminable amount of time later, sputtering and coughing as she struggled to catch her breath. The last thing she remembered is passing out in that train, and now she couldn't move her hooves and she felt the strange absence of her vest. She looked around as her brain tried to make head or tails of where she currently was.
Shermane and his squad carried the mare and what explosives they could back up to the cave. They placed the mare in a bare tent with only two chairs in a table, closing the flap to hide her inside. They left a few members down by the train to keep watch over the explosives on the train. As for the civies, there wasn't much they could do except recommend waking the rest of the way. A couple hours later, Shermane got on the radio. "Foxtrot, this Abel, raid was a solid hit but we got civies stuck out here or walking towards Manehatten. Manage to capture one enemy, unknown rank or role, and one massive stockpile of explosives that the Harmonist are going to come after. Radio HQ, need to transport the captured supplies out of here, along with the P.O.W, A.S.A.P, over."
Starnsy groggily looked around the bare tent, taking note of the table and chair in front of her. "Urrgh... What... Where am I?" She tried to move her hooves, pointlessly so as they were tied together. She sighed and slumped over in the chair, waiting for an interrogation. "Didn't think the Anti-Harmonists even took prisoners."
Hours of scouting, and nothing. It seemed safe but Reckoning knew something was not right, there should have been some form of creature or somepony trying to hunt them down, "Seems safe," he said, "Lets go ahead and get back to camp, we'll need to bring the civvies through here swiftly." The group turned and began walking from the tree line, Reckoning was hoping that there was nopony near them.
Einheria was in the military records office. She scanned through documents on this Brittlevine character. "It seems she was last seen in the grasslands near Ponyville. Might be a good place to start." She walked out to the records office. "Dawnstars, we're heading to Ponyville for some information!" They walked to the military transport train, showed their credentials and got on.
