"There I was, falling to my sure death when, boom! I was lifted into the air. The Wonderbolts had seen me fall. The swept me up, and they flew high into the sky. I had never been so high before. I was delighted. Then, they placed me down, back into the audience." she finished.
Shade's eyes were huge by this point, his mouth wide with awe. "You got saved by the Wonderbolts? That's amazing!"
"Yeah. It was. I was obsessed with them for a while. Actually... hold on." she said thoughtfully. She flew up, and grabbed a few posters, three action figures, a wonderbolt costume, and a few other wonderbolts themed items.. She passed them to Shadow. "Take a look at those." she said.
His eyes shone as he stared at the Wonderbolts memerobalia. "Wow!" He stared at the posters and played with the action figures for a while, pretending to make them fly around. Finally, he put the toys down and looked at the costume. "When I get better can I wear it?"
"It's all yours." she said. "But now it's time for bed, Shadow. It's been a long day." she said, and pulled the sheets up to his chin.
He sat up a bit. "But I'm not ti..." His sentence was interrupted by a long yawn. "Okay... A little tired..." His eyelids started to close, and he laid back down.
The next morning, the delicious smell of cake filled the air. A almost vanilla rasberry scent could easily be detected, along with mint, strawberry, chocolate, almond, caramel, pecan. The air was as warm as last night, and bustling could easily be heard downstairs.
Shade woke with a start, practically flinging the covers off of himself. It hurt like hay to run, but he did anyways, dashing downstairs. "Do I smell cake?" He asked, sniffing the air.
"Oh, morning Shadow!" said Eluuna, pulling out a cake, and placing it unto the counter, and then reaching back into the oven, and pulling out fresh cinnamon buns. She took some icing, and drizzled it over the warm buns. She cut one for Shadow and set it on the table, and did the same for her own. Then she started to ice the cake with a vanilla frosting. "Do you like cinnamon buns? We can have cake later, if you'd like. " she said, pulling out another set of cinnamon buns, icing it, and placing it in the display window, along with the freshly frosted cake.
He wiped off the drool that was gathering at the corner of his mouth, nodding vigorously. "Yesyesyes!" He said. "It's been a long time since I've eaten any pastry..."
"Well, you live in a bakery. Let's eat!" said Eluuna. The cinnamon buns were warm, and the sweet icing dripped off of it, almost lazily.
He practically shoved his face into them. Any polite mannerisms he had were dispelled now. His face was covered in icing and crumbs. It was messy, but adorable.
"Here you go." she said, giving him another. "So, I have a friend in town. He can probably help you walk better. You'll be flying around in no time." she said , amiably. "After we get ready, we can go. That ok with you?"
"Alright. " she said, and waited for him to finish, then took his plate and hers and cleaned it off. "Go brush your teeth, ok? Here... Let me getcha a toothbrush, then we can go." she said, happily, handing him a toothbrush.
