Meet Joe Average. Male, young adult, Earth Pony. Color scheme is medium grey body, medium grey mane and tail, medium grey eyes. Special talents or attributes: Absolutely none at all. Does not even have a cutie mark. Joe is the epitome of AVERAGE. Average in height, weight, intellect, education, and skills. His performance in everything he does is average. When tested in school for aptitudes and abilities, he scored at the peak of the bell curve in every area, the peak being where the most average of average is. In a world where every pony tries to stand out in a crowd and say, "Hey, look at me! I'm different from all the others!", Joe is different only in the sense that he's in that crowd and nobody noticed. Having nothing remarkable about him, you might think this would lead to an unhappy and boring life. Quite the contrary, Joe has a very satisfying, fulfilling life, being all about the "happy medium" that so many of us try to reach. It's not so much that he lacks any of the luxuries of life, but instead it's that he isn't suffering from any of the hardships that come to many of our lives. His life has security and stability in it, as he has a wife who is much like him, although a bit prettier and more colorful, and he has a colt and a filly that are growing up to be fine young citizens. He has the wife and 2.0 kids that are average for a pony in Equestria. He easily finds work as an extra in any theatre, stage, show, film, or video production. Sometimes he is filmed as he is, and other times his generic looks are adjusted with wigs, costumes, and even dyeing his fur, which takes all dye colors very readily. Directors like ponies like Joe because they fit nicely into crowd scenes with very little hassle. This has led to Joe being moderately successful in life by most standards. Not quite rich enough to be among the Canterlot Elite, he is nonetheless one of the quietly well off ponies living very comfortably, but modestly, in Ponyville. Even if he were far richer, though, he would never be among the rich elite simply because of his down to earth attitude and complete and total lack of pretenses or aspirations for glory, wealth, fame, or power. Joe's favorite sayings are "Dirt washes off" and "Time passes, so make good use of the time you have left." For such an average pony, Joe is quite the success story. But you'll never hear HIM talk about it.
Name: Crescent Gender: Female Age: Pretty much the same age as the Mane 6. Species: Pegasus Pelt Color: Black Mane/Tail Color & Style: Gold with black streaks, DJ-PON3 style mane (after a bet she had made with DJ-PON3) and a Spitfire style tail (it got that way when she became older. The 2 aren't connected, its just coincidence). Eye Color: Green Cutie Mark: None yet Physique: normal weight and height with a light muscle build Residence: Ponyville Occupation: Astronomer Motivation: To find her place in the world Likes: Racing (more of an endurance type than all out speed), learning new things, building things (Steampunk style), music (she wanted to be a DJ), looking at the stars at night, performing awesome tricks when flying Dislikes: having to clean up for someone else's mess, sleeping during the day, and ponies that don't make any sense. Character Bio: She was born under a Crescent moon (hence her name) but lived in Cloudsdale in her early years. When she got older, her parents started to fight a lot, mostly about little things. She decided to run away from home to live on her own. She made friends with Vinyl Scratch. When VS found her special talent to be music, Crescent wanted to join her in music-making. But she wasn't any good at it. She told Vinyl "If your first album becomes really popular, I'll change my mane to look like yours". A few months later, She topped music lists all over Equestria, Crescent stuck to her word and after a few hours at the stylist, her mane now resembled that her now famous friend. A few years later, after falling asleep in a cloud (resulting from studying the stars all night long) Rainbow Dash performed the first Sonic Rainboom (which we all know resulted in 6 ponies getting their cuties marks), the cloud she was sleeping in was hit and Crescent fell unconscious to the ground. After waking up several hours later in the hospital, she learned she wasn't the only one affected by the Rainboom, but nobody knew who it was (Its reported the other pony was hit by it over Sweet Apple Acres, his body was never found. He is presumed missing). Her once bluish-sliver coat had turned black and her mane and tail lime-green and yellow (but lots of dye would fix that). She was released after tests had shown no adverse side-effects. She had found that she had more stamina and increased strength. She then set out to find the other effected pony to no avail, but she still this day wonders how that Rainboom had these effects on her. Years later, she tried to join The Wonderbolts, but she didn't know that you have to be referred by a Wonderbolt to join. She lives in Ponyville, just a short walk away from the nearest huge telescope (I'd appreciate if someone could tell me the name of these). While Astronomy may be her occupation and one of her passions in life, she still hasn't got her cutie mark and what her special talent is and it depresses her just thinking about. Character Backstory: Novella was a shy little filly with little or no skill at making or keeping friends. Since few would spend time with her, and would often make fun of her awkward personality, she turned to the one place she felt safe and important: her writing. Novella would spend her school recess time writing and researching old legends to incorporate them into her stories. Though she was one of the first in her class to get a cutie mark, the event still did not improve her social status with the other school fillies. The first friend she ever made was another quiet young colt. He was being teased for being the only blank flank left in her class and she stepped in, directing her classmate's ire away from the quiet colt and onto herself. From that day on, the young colt always served as her idea board, affirming her good ideas and tactfully letting her know to get rid of bad ideas. With the young colt's help, Novella completed her first fantasy adventure story: "Stray-steed Saga" which got the attention of Canterlot's literary elite. When Princess Celestia called upon her to be trained as her royal bard, Novella had to make a difficult choice. She would have to leave her home town of Ponyville to attend school in Canterlot, rarely getting breaks to visit her one, and very close friend. In the end, career won out over friendship, and though over the years the pair wrote to one another, the letters began getting fewer and fewer the more intense Novella's workload became. Though Novella grew up to be a famous writer all over Equestria, her one regret is losing the one true friend she had made... Backstory: As a colt, Nightshift was always staying up well past his bedtime. The eve of the Summer Sun Celebration and Nightmare Night were his favorite holidays. His father worked nights in the Canterlot foundry deep inside the mountain, so naturally Nightshift spent a great deal of time watching the forgemasters at their craft. He even co-opted a disused storage room to set up a small forge of his own. Soon, Nightshift was turning out crudely made iron pots and such. He worked at his forging almost every night, improving his technique until he felt confident enough to show his father. For this, Nightshift would need to make something of great quality. Looking around, he realized how makeshift his tools were, having been scavenged from the forgemaster's castoffs and his eyes lit up with realization. A sledge, the very symbol of his craft, was the perfect choice. Nightshift gathered the materials he would need and set to work. For an entire week he thought of little else, sneaking down to his forge when he could to work on the sledge. At school, Nightshift's friends wore expressions of curiosity when they looked at him but he hardly noticed. At last it was done, every detail perfect, and Nightshift went home to show his father. His proud smile turned to stuned incredulity when Nightshift found his father waiting for him just outside the door to his little forge. "Thought I might find you here." Midnight Oil said to his son. "H-How did you know?" Nightshift stammered. For answer, he simply pointed at his son's flank. On it, was a sledge and anvil. "That's been there for a week. When one of your friends asked why you hadn't invited them to your party, I thought it might be something like this." Midnight explained. After that, Nightshift came to work with his father and the forgemasters shared their knowledge with him. He grew strong in body and craft, eventually striking out on his own and setting up shop in Ponyville. So if ever you find yourself in need of an ironsmith, head out to the little shop near Whitetail Woods where that perfectly made sledge still sings. Skills: Heavy Lifter - Nightshift's Unicorn magic is very good at lifting (and hurling) very heavy objects from years of using it in his work. Armorer - He has crafted a custom set of interlocking plate armor especially for arena combat and can repair it (or his teammates) in the field. He loves feeling the wind in his mane. He also loves his ability to move the wind he creates. Rainbow Dash is also another one of his motives. She keeps him on his wings when they race so he is pumped to practice more if he loses some of the races against her. Strengths: Courage, Loyalty, Is fast in his flying (can almost reach up to rainbow dash's "Sonic Rainboom" speed, but won't ever be as fast as Rainbow Dash herself. He is just the 2nd fastest at flying) Weaknesses/Flaws:He tends to stay in his "Peace Fall" trance for too long which sometimes almost causes him to hit the floor at top speeds, He has troubles making friends Fears: Of his past Overall Persona: Overall, he its a good Pegasus. He offers as much help as he can with others. Even though he is talkative, he hardly makes any friends. And though other ponies enjoy what he does, he doesn't brag about his talent. He is a Pegasus that doesn't indulge in fighting easily, but will if he (or anything he cares about) is insulted. He is Brave to fight against what he seems isn't right. In his past (Which he hardly likes to talk about) he was abandoned at a young age. He never knew his parents and never knew if he had other family. He was later found by some pony in an unknown town. He was always picked on there when he was going through school cause the school he went to had earth ponies and unicorns, but no other Pegasi but him. That's where his "Not making much friends" came from. After he grew up to the teenage years. He discovered his talent and got his cutie mark. The only problem, he created a big windstorm that blew most of the town into a mess. So he found his talent in a bad way (Which was an accident). The ponies in that town soon sent him off for the safety of that town. Now he lives in Ponyville, where he enjoys his life with the friends he has (Or tries to get). How he meet Rainbow Dash: Ok so he meet Rainbow Dash when he was doing his tricks while clearing the clouds away. That's when Rainbow Dash all of a sudden came in and messed him up. He wasn't really happy about that, but instead of letting it go, he held a grudge on her. Not talking to her, being mean to her. They both started to hate each other left and right. They started to get competitive with each other, trying to see who's the best, but that only caused more of a rivalry between the two. When it was the 1000 anniversary of the Summer Sun Celebration, Nightmare Moon escaped. Angered by the kidnap of the princess, he went out ahead to search for her, but he couldn't find her. That's when he ran into Rainbow Dash and her other friends. He insisted on going but Rainbow Dash denied. They both got into a fight, which awoke a bear nearby (way before they ran into that lion like creature). That's when Flash Wind saw that this war they had between each other needed to stop. So he told Rainbow Dash and the others to go on ahead while he held back the bear, injuring himself in the process while scaring the bear away. He couldn't fly for a while. Soon he saw that it was day time again. After a while, while he was trying to get back to Ponyville by walking (While injured), Rainbow Dash came back and saved him. He was sent to the hospital and then Rainbow Dash and her friends all went back to the castle to be thanked and honored for there heroism. When Rainbow Dash returned to visit Flash Wind. He said sorry to her, for everything he said and did. That's when they became friends. Now He does friendly competitions against Rainbow Dash. Even though he knows her and her friends will be great hero's if Ponyville is in need of one, but he is also there to help them.

A small black cross. These represented his four elements in his spirit. Wisdom, power, instinct and courage. He earned this cutie mark when he defended his friends from an attack. He used his four elements at that moment. However he had no idea what these were. These elements came to help him later in his life when he moved to ponyville. (Explained in Skylark and the Spirit realm) He now lives in Ponyville and has found himself falling in love with Applejack. (That story isn't finished yet but in the fic section it is Rekindling under Romance) And well that is basically my OC so far. He will be developed a little more as I continue to write about him.
