He chuckled, but also mentally scolded himself. She was mortal and he was acting childish. He knew nothing could come of it, why toy with her?
Rosy cleared her throat, and changed the subject quickly. "Ahem. Do you know if we arrive late tonight, or tomorrow morning?" she asked.
"Okay. Well, just because we rescued some ponies does t mean we can't look around some more," she said, just as the loudspeakers came on. "Due to a recent incident, we ask all ponies to stay in their compartments. Do not worry, everything is fine, but please stay within your compartments until we give the all clear."
"I guess we had best return to our room then," he said, somewhat disappointedly, "So as to not seem suspicious!"
Rosy nodded. It had begun to rain outside, and when they returned, the windows were streaked with droplets. A hint of a smile crossed Rosy's face. "When I was a filly, my mother used to make forts with us during rainy days," she said, somewhat nostalgically.
Frozen sat next to her, resting his chin upon his hooves and gazing out at the rain, beside her. "I had never seen the rain until I left the north," he said, "It was incredible to me, the first time I saw it."
"Really..?" she asked, almost in awe. She laughed a little. "It almost amazes me to see sun nowadays; Vanhoover was extremely rainy." In Vanhoover, rain was the most common weather; Rosy's childhood memories were filled with activities like splashing through puddles, and making mud pies. It was difficult to imagine someone who's life had been devoid of the rain until they left home. "What is home for you, Frozen?" she asked.
He nodded, his face taking on a distant look as he thought. "On the eastern shore of Chineigh, there is a thriving port city called Singlehorse. When I knew it, the city was still very small and tranquil. I met Lotus there, my sifu and closest thing to a true parent."
"Like all mortals inevitably do, Lotus passed on to a place I could not follow her to. So, alone again, I chose to wander."
"She lived a good life," he said, "Besides you, she was the only other mortal I told about my true nature. Like you, she also understood the demons I was running from. She taught me humanity." (couldn't think of a better word lol)
"Still, it's always difficult to deal with that." she said, her ears drooping in sympathy. "When did you meet her?"
"It was spring," he said, "I had only just arrived in Chineigh by ship. We landed in Singlehorse probably around the month of may, some three hundred years ago."
"Three hundred times," he said, "Each year I return to place flowers on her grave and to celebrate the new year festival."
