Frozen's anger swelled, his pale eyes glowing angrily as he unwittingly turned into his true form. The temperature in the room dropped significantly.
Ed seemed to analyze the situation, and he sprinted to Rosy, holding her up as a shield, pressing a knife to her throat. "Leave, or she gets it," he growled.
Frozen looked at the princess pleadingly. He didn't know what to do.. Every bone in his body wanted Ed dead, but he also feared for Rosy's safety.
The princess' magic glowed, and Ed pressed the knife menacingly. "Don't try anything." he said. Twilight was clearly frustrated, and Ed smiled. "Leave, now."
Suddenly, a thick encasement of ice surrounded the knife and then the arm, so that Ed could not move it at all. Frozen reappeared, from thin air, as it began to snake its way up Ed's arm.
Ed looked on in fear as his arm slowly froze over. "No... No.." he muttered as he tried to move. "Frozen, please contain him just enough so we can transport him." Twilight said, relieved.
Frozen resisted the temptation to freeze hin entirely, as he knew Rosy would want better. He merely froze Ed's limbs and left him, heading over to Rosy and kneeling down beside her, "Rosy.." he whispered, his eyes growing misty.
Twilight teleported Ed away to a holding cell, and she walked over to Frozen. "She needs medical attention immediately." she said, her horn glowing. "Look at how pale she is." Twilight teleported them all to the Vanhoover hospital, and Rosy went into the Emergency Room.
As they wouldn't allow him in with her, Frozen waited for Rosy in the wating room, hoping to be allowed to see her soon. He turned to Twilight, "Thank you for helping her," he said and his face dropped, "What is to become of me now?"
"Well, I'd imagine the princess will have to make sure you are not a threat to society. Also, I want my book back." Twilight said.
Frozen reached into his satchel and gave the book back to her. His hopes shrank when he did. Now there was no chance of granting Rosy the immortality that would allow them to be together. He sat in defeated silence, head hung, wishing he could follow her beyond death's door.
"I've tried everything," he said, not looking up, "Nothing ever worked. I never wanted to die, immediately, I just wanted my life to have seasons like the mortal folk. I wanted freedom from the need to feed upon suffering, to live out a mortal life and experience love and a family. But, no, I can not become mortal, it is impossible to do so."
"If she doesn't put me to death," Frozen said softly. He had a feeling Celestia or Luna would be here soon enough. Twilight most likely sent word to her when they arrived at the hospital. He would find out his fate soon enough.
"Oh, I don't think that will happen." Twilight said. A doctor entered the waiting room. "Mr. Heart? You can see her now."
Frozen nodded and rose, catching the stares of a few ponies as he passed. He had since dropped his guise, showing his true form. When he entered the room, he slowly floated over to Rosy and sat by her bedside.
