They entered a long room, with a pony in a powdered wig sitting at the front holding a gavel, and a great many others sitting on the sidelines. Ed was sitting alone, and he looked at Frozen with intense hatred. "Please rise for the Princess Celestia." the pony said, gesturing.
All the ponies rose and bowed, and Princess Celestia inclined her head gently. She hurried to her seat, and beckon for Frozen. "Please stay standing for the arrival of Princess Twilight." The purple alicorn teleported in, with a flash of fuchsia light. Everyone bowed to her arrival, and Twilight nodded back. She joined Frozen and Celestia. "She is alright." whispered Twilight as she passed Frozen.
The judge continued to do a prelude to the trial, and Twilight continued to feed Frozen a steady stream of information. "She sends her love, and says that she will probably send a letter tonight if possible. The situation was rather strange, in all honesty. She was doing fine one minute, and not so fine the next."
"Of course." Twilight said, as the case began. "Mr. Jadewind," the prosecutor began, addressing Ed. "You are here because of the continued assault of Ms. Rosy Donner, your fiance. Our research suggests that you had been doing this for several years, and Ms. Donner is in the hospital now, trying to repair the years of damage left on her from you." Ed's eyes grew concern. "But... I never..." The judge banged her gavel, silencing Ed.
Ed sat, with his head in his hooves. The prosecutor cleared his throat. "We would like to call a member of our audience to the stands. Mr. Frozen Heart is a close friend of Ms. Rosy Donner, and he is witness to Mr. Jadewind's crimes." (I'm breaking all the court rules right now.. )
"Mr. Heart, is it true that Mr. Jadewind is the cause of Ms. Donner's current state?" the judge asked. Ed looked up, anger in his gaze.
The prosectuor looked through his notes. "You say without a doubt... Did you actually see any of the abuse when it was executed?"
"Threaten to kill her?" the prosecutor said, concern in his voice. "I see. And you took Ms. Donner away from the abuse?"
"I contacted the princesses with my concern," he said, "It was the first time that I took Rosy away from the abuse she was receiving. Ed followed us to ponyville and kidnapped Rosy."
"I see. Thank you, Mr. Heart. No further questions." the prosecutor stated. Ed's lawyer approached. "Mr. Heart, what exactly kind of animal are you?" he asked
The jury broke into whispers, their voices dry as salt. "Is it true that windigoes feed on sadness?" asked the lawyer.
