Rosy laughed slightly. "For someone who thinks they're fairy tales, you sure know a lot about them." she said. She shrugged, and then winced when she remembered the gash in her side. "I have to admit, I haven't always been sure. The woods by my house are lit up at night, with flashes of a teal blue. I used to watch them the entire evening."
"The forests of equestria are strange," he said, "and dangerous. You never know what might be lurking within them. As to the nature of Windigos, well, I study folklore."
"As far away as Saddle Arabia and Chineigh," he said, "The latter is the only place I've ever really felt at home, but I must wander."
"Chineigh?" asked Rosy in a mixture of awe and excitement. She regained her composure, and shook her head. "Wow.. So you've really been all over."
"Perhaps." said Rosy tiredly. "I'm afraid I may have to leave soon. I'm not completely sure Ed was drunk this time, honestly."
"Well..I must needs leave soon, myself," he said, at length, "If you don't find it untoward in my asking, miss Rose, you may travel with me if you would wish to?"
Rosy looked slightly shocked. "Oh, Mr. Heart." she stammered, "t-that's very kind of you, but I couldn't p-possibly."
"I assure you that you would be no imposition miss Rose," he said, "I would be happy to have your company."
He nodded gently, but his face grew serious and, a little sad. "I am," he said, "But there is something I must ask of you, something it is only fair to ask if you are to travel with me."
Frozen's face grew sad; the moment of truth was nigh. "You know what I am, don't you?" He asked, his voice twinged with a mixture of sorrow and concern. Sweet Celestia let it not be the case..he wanted companionship so desperately..
Rosy looked at him with consideration. Her eyebrows relaxed. "I have slight suspicions." she said, nodding to herself. "You need not tell me if it makes you uncomfortable or unhappy, though."
"What is it you think I am?" He asked, "If your suspicion is true I will confess to it. Honestly I don't understand why you are not afraid of me.."
"You're a windigo." she said simply. "The truth is, Mr. Heart, you've been kinder to me than anyone has been in a very long time. You could be a dragon, and I'd be fine with it."
Frozen was touched by her kind words, nopony had ever been so kind to him as she. "Thank you, miss Rose," he said, "Yes, I am a Windigo. I am eight hundred and fifty years old. I was born one hundred and fifty years after Luna was banished. It would be two hundred before I, too, was banished from my homeland."
"I was born..different," he said, "Most windigos actively revel in their nature, while I despise being what I am because I cause suffering to survive. So..I refused my father's throne.""
