He squinted and opened his mouth to reply before an alarm pierced the silence. Alyssa looked up, her gaze turning steely. “That’s fire. Come on, we gotta evacuate.”
Ferris instantly looked concerned, standing as well and taking Fleur’s hand. “Is this normal?” Alyssa shook her head. “No, not at all.”
They hurried towards the exits, Ferris still holding her hand. Smoke was beginning to fill the hallways. “How has it happened so quickly?” Ferris muttered.
Screams began to rise around them and Alyssa began to panic. “Is it him, Ferris?” she demanded. Ferris didn’t respond before looking down at Fleur. “Go with Alyssa, okay? She’ll take you somewhere safe.”
Fleur looked extremely uncertain, but squeezed his hand and nodded. "..Okay." She turned to Alyssa, seeming upset.
Alyssa was glaring at her brother. “Where are you going?” “I’m going to try and figure out if he’s followed us. It’s okay. Go to the spot. I’ll meet you there in an hour.” He shrugged off his bag, slipping it over Alyssa’s shoulder. “If I’m not there in an hour, you gotta go with the plan, okay? Avoid the train; hitch rides if you can.”
He looked down at her for a moment before looking over at Alyssa. “Take care of her, okay? She’s not like us.” Alyssa frowned, looking down at Fleur for a moment. “I will.”
