As the taxi pulled into Sylvaele, the town would look as if she never left. She got back in the early evening, and the familiar lights that lined the canals greeted her, glowing gently.
She looked around with a frown, feeling anxious before she started toward the street the building was on.
It wouldn't be hard to find. A large sign hung over a storefront. Fleur would know the area well enough to know that this building had been abandoned for quite a few years; Romero worked quickly, it seemed.
The storefront was on the first floor of a tall building. There were many of these in Sylvaele; apartments built on the backs of storefronts. To her left was a small alleyway.
She made it up to the third floor before she found an unlocked window. It was dark inside and difficult to see.
The room looked like it might have been a storage room. There were some boxes nearby and a door on the other side of the room. As she approached, she would hear some voices, sounding like two people were walking by. "The boss isn't happy. He doesn't know why she hasn't come yet."
"Well... if she doesn't show up within the week, he's gonna be violent," replied the other voice. "Good thing we've got Lover Boy around to be a punching bag. Wonder what he did to piss him off so much." The voices grew quieter as their owners moved away until there was silence.
She found herself in a fairly empty hallway. There were a few doors along the sides and a door at the end, which the voices sounded like they might have disappeared down.
