Ferris looked down at her in surprise. “Hello, Fleur. Why are you coming with?” Alyssa squinted at him before looking back at Fleur. “What’s the matter with him?”
She frowned, looking over at Ferris. “What? Ferris, who is this?” Ferris looked bewildered. “That’s Fleur. She is a landlord.”
She hesitated. "I said I was a landlord so I wouldn't get beat up. I also told him that I wasn't actually a landlord."
“Oh, that’s right,” he said slowly, his brow furrowed. “You did say that...” Alyssa’s brow furrowed. “I’m going to actually kill him.”
She sighed, her brows furrowed. "Romero has been trying to, well.. make me choose between restoring his memories and letting him go, or protecting my grandmother from him."
She frowned at her, crossing her arms defensively. "Yes. And does he. They used to be together when they were young, but she left him because she didn't like what he was doing. He is the one who gave her this necklace." She hesitated. "He said he would force her to love him."
Ferris squinted at the two of them. “You two know each other?” “Ferris, bud, you gotta be quiet for a little bit, okay? Take us to Romero.”
They approached Romero’s room and Ferris knocked three times. “Come in,” they would hear him say. Alyssa squinted and charged in, approaching a very confused Romero who was standing at the fireplace. “Hey, Romero,” she said angrily. “Can you just leave us alone?!” He looked startled before a smile crossed his face. “Alyssa. It’s been a while.”
