He had changed out of her cousin’s clothes back into his own. He was making the bed and his head was hunched as he cleaned. This appeared to be a trait that he shared with his sister; when they were upset, they tidied.
She wasn't sure if she could say anything to make him feel better. She came over, frowning slightly. "Can I hug you?"
This seemed to upset her a little bit, and her brows furrowed. "What..? Because I missed you. You realize that I love you, right?"
“Well, maybe you should stay away for a bit,” he said, his voice tight. He paused before looking down at his hands, his shoulders slumping. “Maybe you should keep away...”
She sat down beside him with a small sigh. "I don't want to keep away," she said quietly, her voice soft as she looked down.
He was silent for a long time before leaning over and resting his head on her shoulder, closing his eyes.
He slipped his arm around her waist and pulled her to him, turning his face to her neck. “I love you too,” he said quietly.
He looked up at her, his arms around her waist. “I really don’t know what to do,” he admitted. “I don’t know how to make this work.”
