She laughed a little, sitting on the counter. “I don’t like student life *squee!*,” she said with a shrug. “I like to find my place authentically, not from a brochure. That sounds super douche-y, but it’s true.”
She squinted before standing. “Fine. It’s today. I just got reimbursed for my last semester, so we’re going to go out and look for apartments.”
His back was to them and his shoulders were hunched. Alyssa spoke up. “I know this sucks. But the sooner it’s started the sooner it can end.”
He looked down at her before looking up at Alyssa. “A whole month?” “Yes,” she replied sternly. “You can do that.”
