"I saw you," she said brightly, stepping back and taking his hands. "And the note and flowers. I was alright as well. I really missed you."
He leaned over, talking quietly in her ear. "Their oatmeal is really good," he said thoughtfully. "So are their scones, but I don't get those very often."
He looked down at her, one brow raising quizzically. He reached up and made a small "3" with his thumb against her skin, starting and the corner of her nose and looping down, touching the corner of her mouth and ending under her chin. "Why are you blushing?"
She looked up at him in embarrassment. "I forgot how much I missed the little things, like you whispering in my ear."
He laughed, draping his arm over her shoulder and pulling her close. "I missed you too, Fleur. Tell me about your month."
She leaned against him. "It wasn't too exciting. I explored the city a bit. It's bigger than Sylvaele.. What about you? What did you do?"
He paused for a millisecond. If she wasn't paying attention, she wouldn't have noticed. "Yeah, I do."
"Yeah, well... I guess the one month worked," he said brightly as they got to the front of the line. "What would you like?"
“Coward,” he muttered before ordering a croissant and an americano. He paid before they went to sit back down.
